Hey all. Im kinda just. bleh in the game.

I have 800cr and the only car i have is a Pontiac Sunfire GXP. Its slow and every race i enter it loses. now im not a bad driver, i have actually beaten the game (lost the memory card and cant find it, pissed off)

What can i do to win some CR? Easy stuff

Well, just to make this easy on you I will explain but generally speaking a search for something like "easy money" or "money" would get results you could use.
However, like I said, I'll make this easy on you...

Go do the license tests and earn the best scores you can, the prize cars will be good enough to get a win in the "special events: Rally d Capri (easy)" the event gives you a 265,000 prize car. 👍
That's a great way to make easy money because the event consist of two two-lap races. 👍

Good luck. :D

I would practice practice practice. That Sunfire can actually cream the Sunday Cup & with a few mods like a sport suspension (even if you're not that good), and then you can take the FF Challenge with perhaps some power upgrades, too. But Gran Turismo is a semi-realistic car-racing game, and therefore real-life forces are supposed to apply.

You'll have to learn the tracks you're competeing on. Trust me on this...the better you know the tracks, the easier the races will seem. In the long run, knowledge of the tracks (where to brake, accelerate, how much steering input, etc) is more important than power or cheats. I realize you say you've "beat the game before" (whatever that means) but if you can't take some Beginner-league races in a Sunfire, I'd recommend some learning time.

So go to the appropriate tracks (Autumn Ring Mini II for instance) and drive around an empty track lap after lap till you can get away from your "ghost". Do the Track Meets. These don't pay money, but you can learn alot about how to maneuver around Ai cars and what GT4 expects of you. Finally, do some Family Cups. You can set the difficulty of Family Cup races so that as your skill gets better, you'll be able to do faster races.

If you're in a hurry for money, follow Kent's advice; although it sounds as if you're struggling with the game's physics so the rally races might be tricky...but if you wanna learn the game, start off slower. 👍

HTH

Also I forgot: GO INTO THE SETTINGS AND TURN OFF ALL DRIVING AIDS. This may be what's hampering your Sunfire and making it understeer more than it should...making it seem slower than it should. I've done the Sunday Cup in a completely stock Scion xB with road tires...a Sunfire on S2 tires should be more than enough.

800 Credits and a Pontiac Sunfire . . . Sounds like you have more than enough for a good start at the game.

I would agree with the above advice. Going through the tests to get better cars is one way to go to get ahead in the game. Even if you don’t like the cars, you can always sell them off in order to get credits for one you like. Shoot for a silver medal in the tests. It’s not that hard and you get a better car for your efforts. (Well you get the bronze car along with the silver car too.) But remember, once you win those cars, you can’t win them again.

And as Parnelli Bone suggested, you should be able to run the Sunday Cup and FF series for credits too. The car is more than capable of beating the field in the Sunday Cup with out being tuned. One suggestion though. I would turn off all the driving aids. The driving aids tent to bog down the Sunfire quite a bit if I remember right. It should be able to win the FF series stock too. I recently ran it in a stock Honda CR-X SiR and was able to win the series. And performance wise the Sunfire is well above the little Honda. With the credits that you win from either of those series you will be on your way to a good game again.
