This really has no bearing on whether a livery editor is appropriate for PCARS3. The game already allows custom liveries on PC and, somehow, the PC version is still not GT or Forza. No not really, I like project cars because IT IS NOT gran turismo nor forza.

However, as was said above, according to SMS the memory on the PS4 and XBone are limited enough to make for a compromise between custom liveries and grid size. So I won't hold my breath for a livery editor on this generation of consoles.
Still, at the very least it would be nice to have an HSL color picker as an option for a plain paint job. I don't think that could be too much for the consoles to handle.
It still doesn't have anything to do with what kind of games GT or Forza are. A livery editor is perfectly sensible for PCARS even if you are as uncharitable as possible in designating it a super serious motorsports simulator for no one but super serious motorsports simulator fans. Because liveries are a part of super serious motorsports, as well as super serious PC sims.Yes because pc doesn't have the same limitations as console. However console games that have livery editors or custom liveries compromise other features that could be in the game.
I just don't want project cars to waste resources on those kind of features
Are you willing to concede that it isn't about GT or Forza then, or what kind of game PCARS is? A livery editor not being particularly valuable to you is fine, but your first comment came across as claiming it has only casual appeal and should be reserved for games like GT or Forza.Yes sure it's sensible if you are willing to compromise other features in the game which I am not. A 32 car grid size is already a compromise enough. We could do 45 on ps4 in pc1. Live track, a i. and tyre model lowered that in pc2. Livery editor there's no room for that, IMO.

I'd just appreciate the option to make liveries in a genuine simulator, as opposed to a lesser one. Same deal with anything else on my wishlist that tends to rub some people the wrong way. It's BECAUSE the game isn't GT or Forza that I would like to take some things you can find in such games, and to enjoy them in PCARS instead.
And that's why project cars will always be the small time sim racing game of the 3.No not really, I like project cars because IT IS NOT gran turismo nor forza.
I'd rather have custom offline championships than anything.

I don't need a livery editor for this game. The option would be welcome. However, it depends on a series. Real racing cars, which we do have in the game, usually keep the same livery through the year. Does it get boring seeing those cars on TV? Calsonic, Shell, any Red Bull car. Those may have slightly variations, but remain the same through a season.Project cars 2 should have a livery editor. No excuses! Getting tired of seeing the same ole livery's.
I'd like a livery editor as well. But it's not the top of the list of things I feel the game needs by any stretch. It's nice seeing my own designs on circuit but I can enjoy the current ones as well.Project cars 2 should have a livery editor. No excuses! Getting tired of seeing the same ole livery's.

Can't argue with that, i will admit project cars 2 has the best gameplay, but I'd love to see project cars with Forza 7's car list, and gran turismo's attention to detail.Yeah I hope so, don't want a game that focuses on loot crates, scape mode and fantasy vision cars. Then I'd really be forced to buy a pc and move on to raceroom, assetto, corsa, and mortgage my house to play iracing

How so? Why would a custom livery consume more CPU/GPU than one SMS made themselves? If anything you could limit the capabilities of custom liveries to ensure they were simpler than the games in-built ones and this could free up processing power. It consumes processing power to have custom liveries
I agree. If it were implementable, I'd like to see the ability to just change the number and add my name to an existing car. Similar to what sports games made by Ian's favourite company do.I think it would be good to have as a minimum a simple "random" type of livery generator. With ability to choose your race number and apply your racer name to the car. Maybe choose logos and other sponsors.
