Does anybody know if there is an alternative source (besides Fanatec) who can supply replacement load-cells for the Clubsport Pedals? 👍

Thomas (if you happen to read this), when do you expect new stock please? :)

Do load cells wear out? Sorry for such a noob question.

Also are they easy to replace?

Good question greeze. I would also like to have a couple extra on hand. Not that i need to replace mine yet but would be nice to have a spare.kicking around and also 1 to use for testing purposes.
Although my load cell is still 100% even with the short throw position and a fairly heavy setting on the potentiometer.

OT: but maybe the best place to ask.
I have been looking for the molex connectors that are used on the ends of the wires to connect them to the board. 4 PIN,3PIN, and 2 pin. Cannot find them locally ( 1.5 hour drive either direction).
I have found them online but am unsure on purchasing do to not being able to actually test fit them in.
Sooooo. Anyone have a part number?

They are now in stock at Fanatec. I just ordered one to replace my bad one.

I'm not sure how it is in your country, but if you are ordering from the USA, you will get raped by Fanatec for the shipping. The load cell is $15, the shipping is $17. :ouch: If I ever find another source for them, I'll post it here so people won't have to buy from Fanatec. 👎

Oh well I'm going to have to order some of these then. I never knew they were consumable items. Like tires or wipers on your car.

When it's worn out does the brake still work based on travel when the pressure cell is dead.

They shouldn't be comsumable items. I think it's just another example of bad quality control (chinese components from lowest bidder).

No the brake won't still work if the cell is completely dead.

Cheers mate.
Going to have to order some, it's not like I can go down the corner shop for a set.

I must say my brake has been faultless so far.

Are you sure? Both the US and European stores show no stock?

*edit* Ah, screw it. I've ordered two from the Euro store anyway; not got a lot of choice really!

Just a quick update; had an email from Fanatec this morning informing me that my replacement load-cells are being dispatched. :)

Can't fault that for service; ordered on a Saturday evening, order processed and ready for dispatch on Monday morning... 👍

Just tried to go to the US shop and the site is down, I'm supossed to get a replacement one, but am still gonna order a spare one.

I've had to replace the load cell twice. In my case the load cell would read pressure after I fully release the brake pedal. ( each time the brake meter would stop at a different place.) It happen suddenly in the middle of a race.

Has anyone in Canada ever ordered a load cell from the Sates? I need a new one and looking on their web site it will not be available until December and the shipping will be $26.00 plus duty.

That would put it around $50.00 for a $15.00 part.

Anyone with an alternate source here?

I ordered one for a spare but ordered at the same time as my CSR wheel. It didn't ship with my wheel as it was backordered but I got a shipping notice this week that it was on its way.

I've never pulled mine out of my CSPs to check but perhaps there's a part number on it to cross reference it via a Google search. I don't believe it's a unique part to Fanatec so it shouldn't be hard to find if there is a number on it.

As soon as I get everything straightened out and have a fully functional Fanatec setup, I'm gonna pull my pedals apart to change the springs & whatnot. I'll see if I can get a part num offa the load cell then.

I have taken it out and there are no markings. Thanks guys but I guess I will have to bite the bullet and order one and wait for a month. Great system Fanatec has here.

I ordered 2 a week ago since I have 2 CSP, that's a problem us Canucks have, going through Canadian Customs can take a while especially this time of year.

Hi all i'am french with bad english, i will build homemade handbrake connect on handbrake plug : http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/8546/11110109421643022.jpg on clubsport pédals .
I need to know the exacly reference/type/models on Molex connector 4 pin female , can somebody help me ? post a like to find it
i ave make some recherche about it here (last post) but it is french langage : http://www.forzamotorsport.fr/forums/tuto-vibrations-et-frein-main-sur-un-cockpit-maison-50883.html
thank's for advance

If you find out can you please post the info here as well. I have failed in my search for these in all electronics stores around me.

I test to post all my info about it :
That's it, since the time(weather) which we had me predict the death of the standard crankset, it arrived, he(it) released(left) me!
Thus e-mail at Fanatec and repurchase of the crankset clubsport with discount(delivery) of the standard pedals (50€) and the charges of offered port(bearing).
But I defused(unsettled) all the system of handbrake to be able to repair the standard crankset by following this video: http: // www.youtube.com / watch? V=3SEZs1CbfHA in 1 ' 18 ".
Maintaining new project, to install(settle) a handbrake on the clubsport crankset by using the grip(taking) " handbrake " of that this:

( Thank you fredemar for your information and photos!) and here is a summary of all the information which I was able to glean on Web on this subject:
I got in touch with TheBlue028 who had posted this video: http: // www.youtube.com / watch? V=mcZIkZRawRk and this is what he says to me about the connections of the handbrake on pedals clubsport:
"Hi,
sorry i havnt Been in there while, if you look at the picture of the pcb blunder for the clubsport pedals to the left of Were the accelerator, brake and clutch cables connected you'll see an empty plug in, this if for the handbrake. I Used a connection from a broken load cell to plug Into it and just wired up the right to pine Basically this just Gives me a button HB, i dont have a fancy anologue switch. if you use this port for the handbreak, i have found it only works That is forza 3 and 4, ps3 and pc handbreak the axis IS not recognized.
hope this helps "
In summary, the handbrake works well using this form "handbrake" CSP but only in Forza 3 and 4, not on PC or PS3.
I also contacted Tekiei1 author of this video (great job!): # Http://www.youtube.com/user/Tekiei1 p/a/u/2/kOZ5HDc9GYc
for details on the connection itself, and he said this:
"Hello schouba88.
red line: power
blue line: signal
black line: GND
I think That it functions as a hand brake if you connect a red line and a blue line to the switch. "
In summary:

That's what I've gathered info about it as if someone has embarked on a similar installation, thank you to trace information. For my part I will test this setup soon and will post my info here

yeah what amazes me is Mr Tekiei, managed to do progresive e-brake, by wiring it to the potentiometer of the brake.
and making the ps2 connector. wonder why he didn't make it a production and sell it along he's FREX shift + and Handbrake +
maybe licensing issue.

I bought the Clubsport pedals when they first came out and used a pretty heavy brake pressure. I've reduced the brake pressure to "almost" the lightest setting on the potentiometer to try and increase its life. But they are a consumable and you should order a spare or three before you need to replace it. When it fails you will instantly get no vibration feedback from the pedal and brake force in the game will be about 50% with full pedal pressure. Also there are no part numbers on the load cell and Fanatec is the only supplier. Here are some pics showing some failed load cells with arrow showing the crack.

The problem with my Load Cell wasn't the cracks, it was a wire that got pulled by accident, splitting three wires. This caused no transmission to go through. RIght now it's working perfectly. How long do you expect these Load Cells to last?

@Older Racer 1944
It looks like something is wrong on the black guide which holds the load cell. Perhaps it allows too much movement for the load cell as this is certainly not typical. We might need to replace this part as well.

Fanatec: I'm all ears. What do I need to do to get that replacement black guide piece that holds the metal rod and foam piece as well as the load cell?

I'm not going to give up on finding another source for these. I don't mind paying $15 for the cell, but then charging another $17 for shipping is completely out of line, especially for something that fails as much as these do. 👎

OK, how is this going to happen?
