As many are aware of, the LOGITECH CHALLENGE,is,shall we say "tarnished" by those who cannot live up to the standards of clean, honest, legitimate, fair racing rules.Rules set forth by our own GTP standards and other GT sites who represent the integrity of the game.I have been in contact with another individual who belongs to another forum (Legit Racing) reguarding this matter and he is going to present this also to his forum.Together maybe we can voice our opinion and implement some type of racing guidlines for future events / challenges. If anyone has friends, aquaintences, who belong to different forums, sites, please lets get them aware of this.Bring them in here to at least sign the petition or have them start a petition of their own for their forum and submit it.I also have been in touch with a moderator in this forum as well who shot this idea for me to post up.I guess you can call this a "rant thread" against the Logitech Challenge guidelines, which are neeed of some help.

Our rules are simple : https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=111241

please sign the petition if you feel something needs done. BTW,reference your GTP nametag if applicable to show GTPlanets members involvement with this matter.

We have over 122,000 members surely we can get some signatures on this and be heard.

i have a question how exactly is the comp "tarnished" by those who cannot live up to the standards of clean, honest, legitimate, fair racing rules? is there cheating, corner cutting?

i took part in the comp but just for fun and i dont know of any probs wit it.

My friend, you answered your question within your question 👍 :

"those who cannot live up to the standards of clean, honest, legitimate, fair racing rules?"

problems - watch any of the top 10 replays - wallriders anonymous :grumpy:

I don't like the wording of the petition. Its not very profession in my opinion and from our stance we want to look professional. Surely you could have consulted with us before making this petition.

EDIT:

I don't mean to be critical or crude, but coming from a community like GTPlanet; you would expect a certain level of prestige. However, I certainly appreciate the effort presented, as I am sure most members here are too.

I read about this earlier and its irritating when people like me are struggling to be fast while these idiots cheat thier way to the top. Signed:tup:

Signed, and suggested they review top time replays until they find someone who didn't right the wall, and so on.

Sign me up Tried several laps(over 100) clean with a final 36th place finish. Frustrated to the point of no return, I downloaded one of the top ten ghost cars and found my answer written all over the wall. Testing this method myself within 10 laps posted a 11th place finish, the right rear hit the gaurdrail with no penalty. Not saying any of the top ten hit the gaurdrail, but I deffinitly did. I congratulate those of you whom did not resort to this form of cheating and posted honest times. To whom it may concern geographically speaking Canada is in North America. Many a great racer hails from the great white north.

Signed.

I do not know what the cheaters hope to achieve, when the replay ghosts confirm the fact they are cheating for all to see ?

That is just sheer arrogance and win at all costs, or they are just dumb.:yuck:

Well, being the devil's advocate for a second, I'm sure there are plenty of GT5P racers who use all of the exploits in the game to their advantage, all the time, and don't thing anything of it. All you have to do is take a spin on Fuji intermediate online and you see just how many blow through the chicane, and you realize just how many knobs there are.

Sure in a perfect GT5P universe only proper racing lines should yield the fastest lap times, but as we all know GT5P isn't perfect.

Let's hope, that when the full GT5 is released that will change, and cheaters will be left in the sand trap, or guardrail.

point taken signing petition now!

When I watched the first place video I was appalled at the driving style of the guy. Yes, it worked, but no, it's not what you're supposed to do. And on the last corner it appeared he rode the wall in such a way as to not incur a penalty--but most definitely wall riding.

speaking of driving style, i noticed some GTP'ers who had a replay (for a while) they hit rumble strips going through the S's. is that "what your supposed to do?" they always push me to the outside of the turn...

Any hard surface of the track, that includes rumble strips and hard tarmac surfaces.. That does not include run offs and out of bounds lines (which is at Daytona and Daytona Road).

Well, it's all a matter of driving style. But the rumbles are normally considered part of the track, and you can make more track for yourself by using them.

By the way, please use capital letters at the beginning of sentences when posting.

Yeah thats more than acceptible, though routinely putting anymore than two tyres on the other side of the rumble strip is going that little bit too far i think.

online racing in GTP is just **** anyway unless your with honest to god die hard racers, its never going to work.

for starters the penalty system is shot in gt5, for instance if I just cut the curb a little to much its 5 sec penalty, yet in suzuka all the noobs, cut the right hander completly going thru the dirt that goes into the hairpin and its 2 secs faster, and no penalty, then there is other noobs using the side of your car as a barrier.

its all 🤬. thats why private rooms are needed, and an option to kick ppl for behaving badly, thats why LFS works, because you can vote to kick all the idiots.

OK, the rumble strips in the corners are banked the wrong way. I know its legal, but not correct driving style, thats all i was saying. But I am aware this is a game, and that we were using Std. physics, i cant get around the corner if i hit rumble strips on the inside corner in pro physics.

Signed the petition.

If no "rules" were stated this time, I don't see how they can institute rules now. But hope it helps for next time. Hope there is a next time.

I made it to 107 on my first attempt. Probably won't make it much farther up the ladder. Maybe I should try riding the wall! (just kidding)
