Logitech Driving Force(Not Pro) Urgent Question!

Hello everyone--first timer here, I was searching for someway to fix my DF on here and stumbled upon this awesome forum, and for that I'm so thankful.

Anyway, here's the deal--my Driving Force(not pro) still works fine, but when the PS2 starts up it doesn't move to the right or left anymore as a sign that it starts up. Also when I'm in the process of actually playing the wheel doesn't have the same feel as it did when I first got it which was the sensitivity/vibration and sense of heaviness to the car. It still tightens up a bit, but overall for some reason it doesnt do what it used to, no vibration, no pull, nothing.

Can anyone please help me here? I'm really clueless as to what might be wrong, everything is connected, the power is connected, phone line looking cable, USB port to PS2, everything.

Any and all help would be oh so greatly appreciated, I miss my wheel!! :guilty:

Oh and I almost forgot to mention that only your left hand light is on, the other one is off for some reason, you know the green lights?

If your wheel doesn't feel the same as before, doesn't self-calibrate and it doesn't light up both LEDs, why would you think it "still works fine"?

Something is very wrong. If checking all cables doesn't fix your problem, then it is probably circuit board related and probably not worth trying to fix it.

The first thing I would do is contact Logitech. They have nothing to replace your wheel, so the _maximum_ they will offer (if they offer any help at all) would be an Out Of Warranty sale - a newer product, probably the EX, at 50% of the retail price. Don't get the EX. You probably won't like it. GT4 can't use the micro-paddles and it has a large sloppy centre. It has other advantages, but none when you consider its disadvantages with GT4. Make this clear to them.

What is your best plan of action?

If Logitech makes an OOW sales offer, take the Pro instead, if they agree to do it. That may be a huge "if". Find your serial number on the bottom of the wheel body.

Your next best choice is to just buy a new (or used...) DF wheel. After all, you got your money's worth out of this one already. I bought an almost new one locally for $25CDN, including personal delivery. I love these wheels because of the excellent paddle shape, smart D-pad and SONY button layout and we now have 3 DF wheels, plus an EX (which uses many of the same DF parts). No other PS2 wheel has a better design combination. If you buy a used DF, make sure the steering shaft parts are not worn out or the pedals and pedal-box base are not cracked.

Cheers,

MasterGT

I think that your wheel isn't connected to power... Check your connections and your power supply connections...
