Logitech - feedback on the G25 shifter

I recently wrote a letter to Logitech about the G25 shifter. I let them know about the main problems with the shifter, i.e the quality, resistance, etc.

There is a shifter modification thread on "RaceSimCentral", which is the one with links to every mod. I gave them the link to it, so that they may see what is wrong with the shifter, and also get customers' opinions. Here is their response:

I've had my G25 for a little over month and so far the shifter has been great. No complaints.

I have had my G25 for a week, I wish the shifter had a little more resistance to it. If they do come out with a modified shifter it would be nice if current G25 owners will be able to buy it separately as an upgrade. I have read in other posts that if the shift does break that Logitech will not repair/replace it if out of warranty?

My shifter is starting to feel a bit crunchy going from 4th to 5th or 3rd to 2nd. I'm planning to modify it once the warranty is up. Or maybe send it back if it gets worse...

It's realistic! I'm losing synchros!

EJRocky, could you give me some links to the modifications?
My wheel is getting old, shifter is getting clunky, only mod I have on the shifter is NO NOISE mod. I would like to add some strength back when switching gears. THanks

As well I am happy that we might get a new LOGITECH racing wheel. I am surprised guy in the email did not say we already are working on new wheel. G25 was a good wheel, a followup would be even better.
If new G25 will not come out until later 09, I might get new Porsche wheel. Lets see what happens.

Thanks, cool thread, nice and convenient.

I just finish the Real Resistance MOD.
I took out the NO clicking mod that i use to have installed because I had some problems.

Now the shifter CLICKS again, but at least it has bit more resistance then before, and very stable. Feels like brand new again!!!! (with bit more resistance )

to explain my problems with the G25 shifter & Logitech's somewhat weird refusal/inability to provide any replacement for the shifter unit. You might be interested to know, since opening the shifter up & putting it back together again, I have experienced no further problems. 👍
