So lately I have been having this problem where the gear shift doesnt want to work in certain cars. I know that this is a problem because the shifter was working on these certain cars before. This issue has mainly been happening in online mode but is now spreading career mode.

Some cars it doesnt work in is Toyota Supra RZ, Nissan GTR Touring Car, Volkswagen Scirroco, Volkswagen Golf GTI. These are just examples, there are plenty more.

Seems odd. We all know the clutch sensitivity in GT is rediculous ... so maybe the auto-adjusting range for the pedals is messing up, not allowing the clutch to fully engage? If you try to deliberately hold the clutch to the floor and shift it doesn't work? If it doesn't work on one car and you load a different one, it starts to work again?

the gear shift doesnt even pick up. Even if I dont hold clutch, the car should be going into neutral however it doesnt. It just stays in whatever gear it is in. If i switch from the supra to the scirroco, i will have the same issue. If I switch to a working car like the s2000, it works again

Can confirm same odd behavior, doesn't make any sense when it work or not, can change on online even just exiting track and joining back and h-shifter is totally out.

Very odd. I'll see if I can test on the G25 to verify. Maybe we can note if it's just the G27 or if other Logitech wheels are affected. Which Golf is the issue? The MKI? I don't have a ton of money, so that may be the best one for me to test.

And, I'm assuming that the paddles and the controller all work in manual mode?

I actually have the same problem with the T500 H-pattern shifter in some cars. Some cars it works fine, in some I'm forced to use the paddle shift because the side shifter has no affect. So I think it's a bug in the game.

Cars that only have automatic or CVT won't let you use manual at all. Cars that only come in paddle shift in real life will only let you use paddles (SLS AMG). A step towards realism I guess? I don't like that some dog box trans force you to use paddles though, that should be fixed.

The M4 is going to have a 6 speed manual, but the clutch wont disengage on the G27. That doesnt fit the bill according to the manual.

If you're saying the clutch is quite normal. I have an SL55 AMG which does the same thing.

The M4 in GT6 has the optional slushbox, you can see it because the M4 has 7gears :(

I found this too on a few cars and put it down to car/transmission type. The first time i noticed this was 5-1 of goodwood in the N24 GTR, wouldn't change until i used paddles. Same with 5-2 and 5-3.
Maybe they are just adding to the realism, now someone just had to come out with a steering wheel that leaves the paddle shifts in place.

Comfirmed! I have notice this issue with some of the cars as well.

SRT Neon
AAR Cuda

The R35 GTR only has paddles (DSG trans), so that makes sense to me.

I didn't get to test this last night ... sorry. Started the championship in iB and fell asleep. lol. We need to test in 1.02 since that hit today. Maybe it's fixed already.

Been a few threads about this already, and I've mentioned it a few times. The Mclaren F1 GTR has a 6 speed manual in real life, but will only work as a sequential in the game.

Annoying.

H-shifter and clutch won't work with my g27 when I buy fully custom gearbox. As long as I keep 5 speed or 6 speed gearbox, the shifter and clutch work just fine. Is someone else noticed that?

yes, me. since day1, and still no fix. what about adjusting this, instead of 1255 mb update for stupid redbull challenge?

Not always, on most cars (like focus st, honda civic, skyline gt-r r32/33/34) it sill works with a fully customizable gearbox. (Works for my G27) I like it, it is more realic that cars that don't have a shifter in real world, don't have a shifter in the game.

We were diagnosing this on our club board with a fanatec and TH shifter combo and one this we learned was that it wouldn't work with cars that don't actually come with a sequential shifter in real life...

And when you use a dog leg it's technically not sequential shifter anymore... But I've read here some are having this issue with proper 5-6 speed shifter cars... Do they also happen to have an upgraded tranny?

GT 6 auto detects peddles and shifters... And if this theory is correct and it's not documented, that may explain something...

I think what has happened with the Mclaren F1 GTR is that they've mixed up the 96 and 97 cars, as the 97 had a sequential gearbox added. As for the other cars mentioned above, all of them are available with paddle shift semi-auto boxes, so it's possible PD modelled the cars on these variants and as such the H shifters won't work with them in game.

This is because the cars are with only auto or semi-auto gearbox and u can't use the shifter and the clutch!
This is only with some cars like SLS Amg, M4....

I guess they are taking a step toward realism because the 787B was full manual. However, if the sauber c9 doesnt have the ability to use the clutch on the game thats very inconsistent and they really need to fix it because that is not authentic the c9 was 5 speed manual..I think if the gear changes sounded anywhere close to what they sound like in that McLaren gtr video this wouldn't be so much of an issue lol. Take away all the grit and jerks that happen in those gear shifts and all u have is an automatic that let's u change the gears. No real immersion there.

Group C - Sauber Mercedes C9 - Nurburgring 2009:

You can clearly see its an h shifter in this video.. And ahh the sound loll.. We can only have hope for gt7 I guess lol
