So i have a Logitech G27 wheel, but it miss's the on-the-go tuning features that you get with the DFGT.. đź’ˇ

Ultimately i would like to create a dash board for my cockpit that would allow me to use these features along with my G27.

I have no idea what the technical aspects are behind this, and i'm hoping that somebody out there reading this has a G27 (or possibly G25) and a DFGT and is willing to do a little experiment..

What happens when you plug a USB hub into the PS3, then run both wheels off that same input, either just one will work, both in sync (hopfully?), or none will work.

My plan (if they both work in sync), would be to pull apart the DFGT and use the parts on my dashboard, disconnecting any steering/pedal controls from it.

Somebody who actually has knowledge of how this stuff works might be able to give me a straight "No, stop right there, not going to work" answer, which is fine, but if you don't know a lot about it, please dont just dismiss this idea cause it just sounds like its not going to work đź‘Ť

Now obviously with GT5 not being out yet, this could be tested on GT5:P or possibly even other racing games that both wheels are compatible with?

My guess is that its going to show both as separate controllers, and that will be my mission over, but you never know... :)

Either way i think it would be a cool project to look into.

Thanks a lot :dopey:

Show as two separate controllers. Luckily for you GT5P does support dual-inputs and I imagine GT5 will be the same. What you want is to use the DFGT as a controller for menus, etc and the wheel for actual racing?

I don't recommend cannibalizing a DFGT so if you're not shy of electronics work you can check out here for the Toodles Cthulhu for PC/PS3. You will need buttons for all the various functions (X,O,/\,etc) which can be pricey when purchased at stores like this, you can check out any local electronics stores you have or preferable surplus electronics stores for buttons.

I know this PCB works 100% connected to the PS3 in GT5P with a DFGT and also with Fanatec wheels because I have it in my Street Fighter arcade stick. Only thing is you may want to have a button for the PS Button (the Cthulhu has terminals to connect a button to function as a PS Button) because it will need to be set as controller 1 and the wheel as controller 2 to function.

There are other PCBs out there and a lot of other stores that carry these but I know LL off the top of my head and I have experience with the Cthulhu.

Yeah that's exactly what I want to do, have my G27 purely for racing and another controller (kinda like DFGT) to do on-the-go tuning with and menus etc..
I guess I'll wait and see if GT5 supports duel-input.
Thanks for your help though, good to see that it's a least possible! Iv got alot to learn about this stuff anyway lol :)
