Well, GT5 is coming and there is no better way to play than with the steering wheel .. especially after the release of the new physics engine that we have all tried in the Time Trial Challenge.

So im going to upgrade to the Logitech G27. Which comes out to be $200 bucks at best buy with a friend of mines employee discount :)

Now, mounting solutions. I have seen a ton of things online, a bunch of different custom mounts and seating solutions from websites and i have even seen some cool home made ones.

But honestly, i dont want to spend over 200 bucks (the same price as the steering wheel) for something that i "might" be able to build myself or find somewhere else A LOT cheaper.

Im sure im not the only one who has looked for the answer to an awesome mounting solution besides your desk or lap. Especially for the G27 with the separate gear box.

So below is what i have found, which might be useful for some of you big money ballers and low money ballers.

I have the wheelstandpro and I really like it.
Sometimes I have to tighten a screw but that's all!
It's very easy to move etc.
Although I had to lower a chair to sit better...
And I'm not that tall.. So maybe ask a taller person if he sits comfortable, but I do!

You would have better luck if you posted your question here :sly:

Please don't be scared to use the search function. Its very useful to finding an abundance of information 👍

This seems to be a Steering Wheels & Racing Cockpits subject rather than a GT5.

On Amazon you can get a 300 dollar playseats evo Chair, best buy for the money all you need to buy is shifter extender for the G27 shifter they should be around 25-40 bucks.

Or cheapest way or in similar pricing you can build a custom one yourself.

I like the idea of building your own, depends what resources you have available. If you can weld and have an angle grinder, I'd definately say build your own ;)

One more pretty awesome one for the price as well,

just doesnt have the mount for the gearbox from the g27 :(

http://www.wheelstandpro.com/order.html
It does have the mount for the gearbox for the G27, and on top of the that the mounting plate for the wheel is deeper so you can now use screws AND the clamps together to secure the wheel.

If you want the gearbox by your waist, you are looking at the wrong kind of product.

I settled for the Playseats Evolution, found it on Craigslist for cheap, but the guy did not have the gear shift add-on, but Amazon had it for $30! I also bite and purchased the seat slider, which was a great investment because my friends are all shorts of sizes than me.

I am very happy with my setup and was very anal about he wires, which took me about an hour to really do the whole setup cleanly.

Wheelstand pro for me. Foldable with wheel and pedals still attached and put away in under 5 mins. Cheap option is an ironing board, but risks strange looks if the neighbours pop in.

After countless hours trying to find a G25 (its always out of stock and they never have a clue when they will get more) I have settled for the G27 and picked one up today.

If anyone has a G27 and a Wheel stand Pro can they tell me if it is compatible with the G25 option Wheelstand has? There site shows the G27 but when ordering you only have the option to purchase the G25 stand. Are they identical? Does the G27 mount on the G25 stand?

Yes, but for what you're getting, its not worth almost 200 dollars. Its just a few peices of metal.

I'd like to share how i mount my g25, which could also be used to mount a g27.

I managed to acquire a seat from a vw golf which i mounted on a table top and used an ab / sit up trainer to mount the wheel on, the seat still slides forwards and backwards too.
A cheap way to mount a g27 and works well too:)
