The G27 with all the trimmings is available for £169.99 with free delivery in the UK. Play.com, Dixons, Currys, Pc World, Amazon.

With so many places selling it, do you think the price may drop some more or even increase? Should I wait? Is this just a holiday season thing?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks for your reply, I'm ordering it tonight.

Do you think it will go up? Or this is the new price for G27 and not just for the Holiday season?

Logitech stated they're not too eager to release a new wheel and the G27 is still being sold for 300€ on their website. I'd say it's some sort of christmas offer. Go get it, like Rotorist said before.

bought mine this morning from Dick Smiths, an Aussie tech shop.
paid $300, they were marked at 499. but i was told that they sell for 350... that i couldnt work out.

PlaySeat, Wheelstand Pro or DIY solutions. Lots of people came up with ideas, just start looking through the Sim Racing Hardware section and you'll maybe find some inspiration. :)

I noticed your total conversion post. Wow, your getting the Thrustmaster T500RS? and the F1 wheel? Bucket seat too! I wish I had the space and money and more importantly the wife's consent for such a setup.

Thing is I'm new to this whole steering wheel thing, I only got GT5 cause it came with the console and I'm hooked. After following youtube vids for help, I noticed more and more people playing with wheels and contemplated getting a DFGT at £79.99, but I kept going back to the G27 vids with the clutch and manual gear lever. My wife noticed this and asked how much it was, her eyebrows disappeared into her hairline  but suggested, if I stopped smoking she'd be cool with it. She caught me smoking an hour later, to which I replied 'It hasn't arrived yet!' :sly:

be sure to upgrade your G27's with Chilicoke or Derek Speare adapters.

Ah, mods. I'm really lost here and could use your advice. What would you suggest the very least I should do? I noticed a video on youtube where they changed the springs in the brake and clutch, I think the springs had plastic cubes in one end.

You should stop smoking anyway. :P

I was just about to check my email to see if I received a dispatch email and was interrupted by the doorbell. Guess what?... Yes!

Sitting at the foot of the bed, still sealed in its outer box. Will give my thoughts later. *rubs hands together* :gtpflag:

Damn, slight problem, probably faulty. I tested the wheel with various settings and various cars, but at some point when holding a turn the wheel gives way as if a gear or cog is slipped, I sense a clunk or a click if you will. Cut the story short, it's going back.

Having said that, being my first experience of a wheel, I absolutely loved it, I've got the bug. When the wheel did hold and the wheel was fighting me, pulling in the opposite direction, it felt good. Shame about the slip.

Now, I'm still on a budget. So, Thrustmaster T500RS?? but £375 is wow money for me. What to do? Is it smooth or do you notice all the clicking and grinding going on?

The reviews for the CSR Elite are really good, but what's the cheapest I could set myself up for?

I think that the force feedback might be too high. What number do you have it set on.

Minimum, 1 I think it is. It's a shame really. Anyway, I was hoping for some advice on the Thrustmaster t500rs. I'd hate for it to be more of the same.

When does the wheel slip? In game is it when you lose traction?

Some games portray loss of traction (front wheels) as though the FF suddenly drops out. Regaining traction will kick the FF back in.

Can't say for sure though sorry. Long time since I played GT. not familiar with all the little effects.

Thanks for replying.

Say for example on an oval going anti clockwise with a front wheel drive Focus or Golf, holding it at 10 O'clock, It's fighting me, I'm fighting back, it's picking up speed, feels good, then CLICK! gone, back again.

Anyway, I'd hate to accuse it of being faulty, it just doesn't inspire any confidence in me, and it's distracting me from the game, ultimately fancy tools and hardware aside, It's all about the game. I want to play.

Hmm doesn't sound right friend. Especially on an oval.

Anything else you can try it on? If a cog was broke then it shouldn't calibrate properly.
It would also happen in other games.

Maybe download a Demo off PSN and try that.

My apologies, it seems to have fixed itself.

Actually I'm sure I was doing something wrong. It feels great now. My younger brothers and I spent the last 4 hours playing and tweaking, feels great. Just put the wheel and its flaws out of my head and went for a drive, manual, clutch, gear lever, the works.
I think I got carried away with all the super cars as well, the trick is to start with smaller regular cars. I also think sitting right is important, desk and chair didn't quite work for me, so I sat on the floor on a cushion leant up against the sofa with my knees under the coffee table. Man, I need a rig!

Speaking of demos, where can I get Dirt2 or the like (already have WRC2010 demo) from? US PSN, Japan PSN? What other G27 friendly demo could you recommend?
