I looked for this in the search engine, but produced no result. I have a G27, I've had it for about almost two years. A few months ago, I noticed a little rust underneath my shifter when I pull the leather back. Now, it looks like theres a bit more there. I honestly don't know how it got there, although I'm not that concerned. I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed anything like this. And maybe any idea's on how to prevent further rust.

Cheers 👍

Sometimes, discoloration can occur in the topical areas of stainless steel. One of my old leatherman pocket knives had it. I hate to say it's normal, but chemically, it kind of is (though, this is the first time I've heard of it on our G25/27 series wheel)

To clean stains off of stainless steel, try a paper towel, lightly moistened, with some Barkeeper's Friend cleaning powder. I've never gotten that stuff on leather, so be careful and only lightly moisten the towel, but it's what I use to clean anything that A) can't/shoudn't take abrasives and B) Has some surface gunk that regular cleaners can't get off.

After 2 years of pc and GT my poor shifter is on it's way to a grand finale. I've had a metal clip holding the pots in for over a year, sometimes it will mistake 2nd for 4th. And I hate 1st to third shifting.... The paddles only do it for me in non h pattern cars.
