Logitech G27 settings

In gt settings put it on simulation mode, steering assist off, set the feedback the way u want (i use 10)and configure your buttons to do what u want.

I also velcro'd an old controller to the center of the steering wheel. This allows you to set all those buttons to do more things. Left and right on the sticks look left and right, all RA functions are on the d-pad and o to open RA menu.

I did this before you could program the g27 buttons for gt5 but even now I still find it better than the small red buttons. I use those for e-brake and rear view.

Simulation and the other two settings, can't remember what they are, are not available for the G27 wheel. Thats why they are not highlighted. Those settings are only available for the highlighted wheels when that option is selected.

From what I understand CargoRat is correct 👍.

I remember reading a comment basically saying that putting a G27 in simulation mode might not work but it also doesn't hurt anything.

Also, why do you all use FFB of 10? Are you trying to compensate for something :dopey:.

I programmed the two bottom buttons on the wheel so I could look left and right. The top left button is so I can look backwards and the top right is for the e-brake. This setup isn't for everyone but it works well for me.

Only the first setting (simulation etc.) does not work and only for this G27 is not highlighted. The other two available settings are power assisted steering and FFB.

For me it's just more fun. :sly: I use less only for rally and F1 / X1 not to overheat my wheel.

Yes, I know that. I just couldn't remember the name of the other two. I think they are simulation, pro, and amature if I'm not mistaken. Those three settings only work for the highlighted wheels.
@bs: People use stronger FB settings because it gives a better feel for what the car is doing. I used to use 3 then I switched to 8 and almost immediately improved my lap times. It helps you get a better feel for the car. I've read in various threads you've posted in where you come off like your low settings is the right way and everyone that uses high settings is wrong. Thats not the case. Its really what works for each person and what they are comfortable with, not what you say. 8 works for me. Lap times prove it.

I remember reading somewhere on here that, depending on the wheel, (G27 in this case) the most realistic FFB level is between 2-4. This is what a normal car would feel like, 10 is more of a preference compared to realistic. No one is wrong, it's all how you want to drive, some strive for realism where some are more casual.

I usually keep mine between 4 and 5, it gives me the right balance of feedback and maneuverability. My real car also feels more like 4, maybe 3, so I try to keep the same feeling.

I understand that ffb is a personal preference. It's just that every G27 thread inevitably has someone saying that they use a ffb of 10. It's sorta like they are bragging which is kinda funny. If I want a work out I would join a gym :dopey:.

I run a low setting because I run at Daytona for hours at a time. If I run a road course I don't get the feel with a low setting so I bump it up. I would also think that using a low setting would prolong the life of the motors which is another thing I consider important.

Physically I think I also have problems with my wrists and elbows. In school I was a drummer and then later a carpenter. I also hurt one wrist on a four wheeler and broke another in a separate four wheeler accident. If I play a fps on my pc I start to get problems in my right elbow. High ffb's aren't for everyone and I just wanted to get that opinion out in the open.

Thats ironic that you say that about the physical part of it. I am physically disabled with back, neck, arm, and leg issues and I use FFB of 8. Contradicts what you said about what you use with your issues, lol. Anyways, like I said, I use 8 because it gives me a better feel for the car and has surely helped my lap times. It just sounded like you were being overly critical of people who use higher settings, thats all. Anyway, to each their own. Whatever works best.

Oh sorry, I got you wrong, I thought you mean the setting with simulation and some other two settings. :)

By any chance can someone tell me how many degrees of rotation to use? And how do I turn the the dead zone ?
