Wondering what peaple expect Logitech to do when GT5 is released.
Will the G25 be replaced by something entirely new?(better clutch etc.) or just a wireless refresh?
What can be expected with regards to the DFGT?

personally i think there will be a new wheel at G25's price point with improved internals (think DFGT with two motors + G25 aesthetics) and hopefully a better clutch. Maybe wireless or a wireless option.

I think DFGT will stay the same. Hopefully they give it better pedals though. it is basically the same design as the DFP pedals.

What i hope for is a DFGT with the G25 pedal design. Priced between the two.

Well I can't confirm anything, there are rumors about a G27 in the works. Jut searching it on Google gives you tons of places talking about it.

Edit: Also I voted other as I think it will be a type of upgraded G25.

Has anyone else noticed how cheap DFGTs seem to be going at some places these days?
possibly being phased out?

G27 would be great, haven't upgraded my DFP for a G25 for exactly that reason.

I would love to see better G25.
Currently My G25, as well many other G25 seems to be way way weaker with GT5Prologue over DFP or DF GT wheel. I think its due to lack of being 100% compatible, and thus one motor is working.. (very weak even at 10, but I still use to play with G25)

I am getting a fanatec this month, and If GT5 releases an UBER 25-GT I might consider getting that as well. Or at least half a year after GT5 release... Because it will be always 100% compatible with the game.

And for the players that don't have money for G25 GT eddition, there is always the currently good DF GT, by next year I bet it will be 100 dollars flat.

I don't think it will be an upgraded G25 (or G27) because that's a PC-Sim oriented wheel. If anything, it'll be either 'Replacement for DFGT' or 'Something in between G25 and DFGT' (Both of which could be translated into only one option).

To clarify, yeah, they will surely release a new version of the G25, but not as -the- GT5 wheel.

EDIT: To add to the idea of my post, let's watch the trends. Logitech has a tendency of marketing their wheels for a specific platform; i.e. they market the G25 as a PC wheel and they market the DFGT/DFP as a PlayStation wheel despite all of them working with both platforms. That's why I think it's unlikely that the G27 will be the official GT5 wheel.

I think they will just bundle the official GT wheel, and cut it's price down.

dfgt is very nice for the price. only thing is the pedals dont look very good. My DFP pedals and DF pedals were garbage.

Well, aside from a new wheel to accompany the arrival of the biggest console driving game (GT5), I wonder if Logitech isn't going to feel pressure to match or surpass the wheels being offered by Fanatec - really the first time Logitech has had serious competition in the mid-range wheel market...

yeah, fanatec is very small compared to logitech atm, but they seem to be growing in popularity as word spreads of the quality of their products. Fanatec has been working w/ polyphony though, so their wheels will support GT5. I hope the 911 turbo is in GT5.

I hope the 911 turbo is in GT5.
I am getting GT3 RS wheel, So i really hope for GT3 RS!

But hey, if Porsched don't arrive in GT5, Fanatec told that they are working with other badges and Fanatec logos wheels.

Good, I just wouldn't feel right driving a Ferrari with a wheel had a Porsche logo.

(I plan on buying a wheel around the time GT5 comes out, probably after)

The G27 is supposed to have an LED display, iirc. i wonder if GT5 will make use of that or the LED on the fanatec wheels for showing speed/revs etc

LoL, I've driven the cobra 427 from rfactor w/ that wheel and it wasnt too bad :P you dont notice the Porsche badge while driving.

How do you even know about G27 and LED? Last time I check.. no news form Logitech about new wheels.. All I got is that they might work on new project...

And I won't mind the Porsche logo. For me Porsche means Automotive racing history, a good one too, So I would enjoy to have it.. even If I will be driving a Miata in GT5 ;) haha

Well, at this rate, if there is a new wheel coming out, hopefully it will be out before GT5 - but it will probably be a joint release.

I have a DF that I haven't used in ages (new sofa, bodge table doesn't fit any more) but as I'm getting a wheel stand, maybe I'll holf off getting a G25 untill I know what's coming next. One think that I would like though is button configuration for the G25 because GT5P doesn't fully support it.

Well the image I found of what could be a G27 looks like there are more buttons so you could configure them,

Although it looks like it also could just be a rendering done by someone to show their idea.

Edit: also here is a site that shows what the G27 might look like including shifter & pedals. It's not in English though, so if someone finds an English speaking site please post the link.

I've seen shots of the (supposive) G27 before - but my main concern is (given that it is actualy in the works) where is the shifter?

Click the link to see the pedals and shifter.

Here is the page translated, be prepared for bad English.

hahah:lol: at the translation

Ok...the shifter seems weird now. Where the new badge is, there used to be the switch for H pattern to sequencial.....where is that now? (if there is any)

It appears from what I've read that the G27 should be out fairly soon as a few folks in the games industry recieved test versions at the end of last year, with an originally sceduled March 09 release.

As for LEDs on it, GTR Evo apparently has the following lines in the controller file:

G27 Led range low="0.81000" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.81
G27 Led range high="0.96000" // Min: 0.00, Max: 1.00, Default: 0.96

Alright I've found a real pic of the G27 from the same site, I'm assuming it's a test version.

Once again prepare for crappy translation, also if it doesn't bring you to the right part of the page it's about a third of the way down.

Yeah that's the pic that seems to be doing the rounds. Originally thought it might be fake but the more I see it the more I think it'll be close to the final thing...which is a shame as it's butt-ugly.

Let's just hope they fix the shifter issues (Logitech did mention on thier forum they were looking into it).

I am pretty sure it is fake (the pics as G27), but we will see.

There is also small pictures which are clearly shopped (the reason they're so small)

I voted other. I think Logitech could produce a new wheel but I don't think it will have anything to do with GT5. If I'm not mistaken, the Driving Force GT is supposed to be the dedicated GT5 wheel (it has the Gran Turismo logo on it after all).

That G27.. looks like same o wheel.. With 4 more buttons on wheel.. Shifter looks bit different now I bet they improved .

I hope they improve Force Feedback and add Vibration features..

So far Fanatec still looks like King of the Hill.. but lets see Final Version and specs for G27

google: - 941-000045 and you'll find online stores that sell the G27 but they are all out of stock.

$361.30

If its true.. wow.. they better be better over Fanatec.

I pay 352 For my RS with customizable clubsport pedals, something looks like G27 uses same setup, not to impressed.

And so far seems Logitech is recycling old (what is it 3-4 year wheel now?) wheel and still want to make money off it..

another site has it at $273 (with a listed rrp of $299). Guess we'll only know for sure what exact features there are and it's price when it's announced.

Its recycled wheel.. But they will say it's brand new.. My guess its going to be over 300 dollars..

OR 350.

You might be right, but who's to say it won't have internal improvements such as belt drive? Also AFAIK they were looking into the complaints/problems of the G25 gearstick, so I'd bet we'll see that being improved. Personally, the weak shifter was the main reason I never bought a G25, and I suspect many others also.

That being said, they did release the DFGT with recycled DFP pedals so it's all up in the air...:nervous:
