Stockholm, Sweden resident here, male, 23 yo and a long-time GT fan. GT1 in fact was my first video game, got it along with ps1 on my 12th birthday back in 1998. It's still possibly my best memory of a video game...I won't forgot the black Honda Prelude I bought for my first car anytime soon, or the feeling of earning the cars you so badly wanted through some really tough challenges. Blue '96 Mitsubishi GTO (with the big rear wing) or Red Mazda RX-7 A-spec were probably my favorite cars in the game, although today I might prefer the '90 NSX.
GT2, 3 and 4 I played the crap out of as well, be so sure. GT4 is the game that introduced me to the mighty Nürburgring, a track that had me hooked right away, and I obsessively drove over a hundred cars on it for so damn many laps, which is obviously a lot of gaming time. Now in possession of both a wheel and an HDTV I certainly won't mind going back there again (haven't played a GT game since '07, in fact).
I got my PS3 just before new year's in 2009, so I decided to wait for the full GT5 instead of getting GT5P. Now I have my Logitech Driving Force GT here next to me just waiting to be "deflowered", if you will... the first time I will be using a wheel too, and November 3rd simply can NOT some soon enough! My driving will suck SO much in the beginning, as I intend to play as much as possible with pro physics, but learning has always been half the fun in the GT series if you ask me. I own no car myself, as I have no need for one living in central Stockholm, plus I can't afford one anyway being a teacher student. Other games series I'm a big fan of include Fallout, Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto, Need for Speed and Metal Gear Solid.
In any case, looking forward to posting here! I've lurked here for a couple of weeks prior and really like the place, hopefully I'll meet some of you in online races too.
P.S. Ford GT90's design I really had a thing for back in the days of NFS2 and GT2, haven't seen many pick it for their avatar either, so I thought I'd give it some love!
