longlasting tires!!

ok dudes i wanna find out what car u have that can go the longest without pitting! ive noticed the m3 gtr race car can keep goin on hard sport tires until it has to re-fuel (about 22 laps). or the amuse s2000gt1 with 17 laps on racing hard's but i wanna know which car out of the minoltas, saubers, gt one, pescarolos etc etc. how many laps and what tyres? cos i wanna do the 24hr le sarthe without even watching it and just lettin my substitute driver dave do the hard work 💡 :sly:

OK firstly, let's clarify this...

The track is Sarthe I or II???

Then people can give advise... I've never done much with this track so my knoledge isn't too good, it's a track I'd like to get into soon though.

the Peskie C60 can go for miles and miles until it needs to pit for tyres. i think it went about 7 or 8 laps of nurburg before pitting (i cant remember though, probably closer to 7) on racing medium front and hard rear

ws that more than the al racers? reckon if you can last for one more lap than the others then by the end theyl have pitted loads more times over 24 hrs theres 1440 mins in 24 hrs so that would be roughly 288 5minute laps therefor it would pit 288'/. 7=41 times ROUGHLY and if they pitted 45 maybe......then that would give you a good lead!? 💡 :nervous:

I tested all the Le Mans cars on Sarthe II:

The Pescarolos have the best tire wear characteristics, but the limiting factor is fuel. You'll get seven laps on a tank, period, which is typical of all the fast cars in this class.

Read the details of how the cars were set up, and how the Peskies in particular where configured. The '04 Playstation car should have R3/R2 tires. The '03 Courage car should have R3s on both front and rear.

(Note: Definitely raise the stock front ride height on the '04 Playstation car up to 80, like its '03 cousin. Looks like PD made a mistake there. The inherent understeer pretty much vanishes when you do that.)

on a related note - has anyone tested what fuel consumption is related to. would be worth testing whether it is purely HP related - ie whether the same car can go further on a tank without its stg 4 turbo installed. Also worth testing (esp for sarthe II enduro) is whether if you set your top gear really long so that it is just cruising along (and b-spec bob never really goes quicker than about 340 kmh anyway so it shouldn't make a big difference to lap times) - ie so for half the lap you aren't at full revs whether the fuel consumption is less.

yeah, i agree, and that what i'm racing right now and only 2 hours LEFT!!!!!!
anyway i know ur car is tuned but my is total STOCK with nothing else edit, and i set front tires soft and back tires med and can go 8 laps per pitstop, but for B-spec, i highly recomment you do what he say, with turbo and blah

Pescarolo with big turbo, super hard tyres, max downforce. Use B Spec (this car is a pig in A spec) set the speed to 3 and leave the overtaking button on. The mazda does longer stints but its average speed is lower.

:) worked a treat mate thanx ur the main man. just got the polyphony for nothin! didnt even lift the joypad!
