Looking for a Ferrari F40 tune

If your hoping it'll perform as well as the 458 or the enzo I really hate to dissapoint you but given the fact that the F40 is nearly 20 years old, it's still a great car with minor upgrades.. The F40 had severe turbo lag and unless you keep the rpm over 4000, you'll experience it first hand. While It's not going to out do any of the more modern Ferrari's, I chose to retain as much of the original feel as I could while still making it competitive in the Digital Cup championship.
As for my setup, I kept the horsepower as close to stock as possible and opted for only the intake manifold and racing air filter in and attempt to retain as much of the original feel of the F40 as I could. A similiar post on the forum mentioned that the gearing for the games version is not correct and is actually higher geared then the RL version. To remedy that I purchased the custom transmission and changed the top speed to 198 to better suit the cars 5 speed setup. To help the turbo lag, I purchased the semi racing flywheel and clutch plate. The lag is nowhere near as severe and is limited to 1st gear when accelerating from a stationary position. Even then its only for a split second.
Lastly, A weight reduction and racing softs to compete in races with no tire restrictions and I'm set. With those few upgrades, the car handles smooth and has greater acceleration.
My setup may not be exactly what your looking for but I'm pretty happy with it.

The Turbo Lag in the F40 is truly exaggerated:
When you upgrade it with the High RPM turbo. The turbo kicks in at 4000rpm and provides solid boost to red line at 7900 rpm. It's quite manageable, as even with the longest gears possible you wont be shifting into the turbo lag. Just keep in mind you need to shift down before 4000rpm.

And at the starting lines, hold the e-brake and rev the engine, drop it in second gear, then release your e-brake. The engine will bog to 5500 rpm and you'll take off with minimal tire wear and without turbo lag.

The correct settings for the F40 are actually surprisingly close to the settings that come standard when you purchase the Full Suspension Kit.
Ride Height to 20/-10
Spring Rate to 7.0/7.0
Comp. Dampeners 7/4
ARB 6/3
everything else at default.

The f40 can be very fast if you tighten the suspension up, but by doing so, you end up with a car that COULD go fast. But instead of going fast, it's is more likely to end up in a wall somewhere.

I prefer my cars to be composed and easy to anticipate.
Extremely influencable but yet easy to reel in once they've started to go.
Softer setting may cost you that one second or so, but the benefits of not hitting a wall, are well worth the cost in longer races.
