Looking for a new wheel

I am not currently in the market for one but with the costs of these things I need to plan ahead. Also want to do as much research as possible because when spending as much as it takes for a quality wheel I want to be sure of what I am getting.
Received a Driving Force GT as a present, overall it seems to be a decent wheel. But the shortcomings are something I wish to avoid in the next one. The biggest issue I have is the flex that I feel in the wheel It seems like it is the shaft that is the main culprit. The next issue I have is the dead spot for the center is too large. I understand the need for a dead spot so the car isn't too skittish but the gt's seems oversized. The pedals could be beefier but their not terrible.
Has anyone used a wheel that addresses these problems? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

The best consumer wheel on the market is the Logitech G25 without question. It addresses the shortcomings you mentioned in your Driving Force GT. The pedals are quite good and the best Logitech has made. They have almost twice the resistence of your pedals and they are made out of metal. It has two output motors for the steering wheel, which makes its feel solid and the durability is quite good for a consumer wheel.

I've had every Logitech wheel ever made and this is the best one :sly:
Now, price is a issue. It's not cheap. The MSRP is $299.99, but again, you get what you pay for.

There are even better wheels out there, but those are merely mods to G25 base wheels and you'll pay through the nose on those set ups.

You won't be sorry if you get a G25 :)

G25 or if you are prepared to pay a little bit more the Fanatec GT 3 RS wheel is what you should research :). G25 is very similar to the DFP GT just with some stronger force feedback capabilities so maybe you wouldn´t be happy with that. The pedals are a big improvement over the DFP GT though the Clubsport pedals are really nice too and they are 100 % made of metal. On the G25 it´s just the pedal plates but both will last for many years I expect. Just have to exchange pots more often on the G25 :)
