Looking For Daytime US Racing or UK Evening Racing

Hi all. I hope this is the correct place for this question.

I've been wanting to take part in some online races for a while now but have found that most of the USA based races start later in the day than I would prefer (usually 9 or 10PM). I live in the Washington DC area hence am on EST (Eastern Standard Time), and am hoping to find a club/league that races during the afternoon or early evening.

I am on full disability after fracturing my spine in in an auto accident, so I am almost always home during the day with nothing to do and would love to do some online racing. With this in mind, are there any leagues/clubs that race during the day EST? I know most people are working at this time in the US, but if there are people like me out there who would like race during the day, please let me know.

Also, if there are any UK based leagues that have room for another racer, that would be great too since an evening start time in the UK would be an afternoon start time for me. Please feel free to message me here or on PS3 (screen name chrisdittmer).

Thank you very much!!!

I have a Friday at 8pm league and a Saturday at 2pm. (Both times are mine) The Friday at 8pm league starts at 3pm your time and the Saturday 2pm league starts at 9am for you. I hope you're ok and whoever you find will support you in any way.

The link is in my signature and i'll send a message when you've done.

Hi Chirs,

I seem to recommend Watermelonpunch's VCRC series to pretty much everyone;

It starts around 10am Sundays for you guys in the 'States I believe. Great bunch of guys, very accommodating with good variety in cars and tracks.

I also run a series at 10pm GMT on Sundays that I think works out for late afternoon for you, it's a single-make series but if you're interested you're very welcome to join us.

This series also runs mid-afternoon for you, and is mid-week, if that is preferable.

Hope that helps and good luck with your search.

Thank you all for the feedback and for kindly inviting me to join your races. I will take a look at the schedules and get back to you all via private message to nail down the details.

Chase - The later Sunday races sound great as do the weekday races.

Jake - The Friday race sounds perfect.

CC - I'll take a look at the link you sent and get back to you.

Again, thank you all very much. I have a semi-busy schedule this week but once it's over I'll be doing nothing all day again so racing online with you will be a real treat. I'd say I'm an average or maybe slightly above average racer. I do use all the aids except traction control, which I only use in the rain or when driving a car that's not tuned very well. I only use the aids because that's what I got used to when learning to play GT5. If they aren't allowed in your leagues I can certainly try to race without them.

Take care and I'll be in touch soon.

PS: Please feel free to send me a friend request on PS3...screen name chrisdittmer (same as here). Thanks!

Hey again guys. I took a look at your race schedules today and several of them look great. The only problem I'm having is that it appears ABS is the only aid allowed. I've started driving without aids to try and get used to it but I think it's going to take me a little time to get used to it. If I were to jump in and start racing now without aids you would probably wish you never invited me because I'd be flying all over the place and breaking the racing etiquette rules by accident:-). So for starters I'm going to look around and see if there are any leagues that allow aids. But I'm also going to practice driving without aids so that I can join your leagues in the near future.

If anyone happens to know of any races that allow aids and are relatively early EST I'd love to hear about them.

Thanks again to everyone for their help!

Understandable concern, my series may not be best for you currently then as the Rocket is a fairly twitchy car on the limit (still welcome to try if you want though). I would still recommend Watermelonpunch's VCRC series because the cars tend to be low powered and ideal for starting to learn without aids on.

Unfortunately I think you're not going to have much luck finding series that do allow aids on. I think Turtle League have a 'Division A' that allows them but they run in the evening for you I'm fairly sure.

Hope you find what you're looking for!

Yes, We have a Division that allows all Drivers to Use Assists except SRF, Which is Division A.

Thanks!
