Loosing WiFi after Windows 10 Update

The system might have made a restore point before the update which you could revert to.

Win10 is notoriously crappy/peculiar when it comes to WiFi drivers. I lost my 5GHz capabilities after update, older driver solved this. With my new adapter, it insists on it being a new device (and thus installing the driver again) on every reboot.

I'm going back to Windows 8. I had it with this. Why would Microsoft release this if it had problems?

Adapter manufacturers are to blame as well, since they didn't bother to update their drivers and rather sell you a brand new adapter.

I turned off auto update for drivers, and I always have all my known working drivers stashed in a folder, just in case something sneaks in that isn't supposed to be installed.

Windows 10 was released in a BETA like state, it really wasn't as polished as previous boxed releases because with the world the way it is now (internet updates) there is the release now, patch later mentality.

Lots of people reported having audio and wifi driver issues after moving to 10, MS hasn't really made sure driver manufacturers were ready for the release. I went back to 8.1 only after half an hour on my Surface, couldn't stand 10! Hopefully it will get better over the next few months.

Hence my reasoning over in the W10 thread over wanting to wait to upgrade.
