Did my customary 10 laps around and will probably stay with this run. 👍 Enjoyed the car here despite some protests from other racers. :)

Can we just clarify if everyone is required to submit a 100% clean OLR-standard lap here?
It's just that last time this circuit featured in an online time trial here some of us that were 100% clean fell-foul of the fact that it's quicker to take advantage of "minor wall touches" here and lost out.

I'll be racing 100% clean here, and won't submit a lap if I can't get one, but I want to know before I start this time if minor touches are being considered foul or not?

Thank you for the query as I had not considered it necessary to state this in the Rules for this round 👍

To make it absolutely clear and to remove any possibility of various interpretations of "minor wall touches" being used unfairly, I must insist on a 100 % contact free run to claim a valid time

I will be posting a video replay of my run this round and would urge others to do likewise.

It is a shame these sorts of clarifications are needed as the title of the series should be enough for entrants to know what is required.

Wouldn't have it any other way. 👍

With the soft top down its funny watching how much wheel work the driver does on this track (lots of quick lock to lock), especially if your a DS2 user.

Hello Gents,
i've been checking in on this forum for a few weeks now while i got myself set up. Would you mind if i joined in? I've recently given up RC racing and wanted something to replace it without having to give up all day sunday every week. I'm a fair bit off the pace though, need to put some serious hours in.

Please join us by all means, all are welcome here :)
You might find going back and trying some of the earlier rounds useful.
Good fun too 👍

Spent most evenings this week preparing for the curry party we held last night so left myself very little time to run this.
Had about 1.5hrs at it this afternoon, and once again sneaked a time PM in with a 3:59PM (PST) or 11:59PM (GMT) timestamp, slipping in with just a minute to spare!
Don't hold out too much hope of a good position here though, I'm not too quick on snow/ice. :yuck:

*Edit* Just noticed you have submission deadline listed as Sunday 17th December. Today is Sunday 18th December, so I'm going to assume that was what you meant as it's consistent with the previous Sunday deadlines for all the previous rounds.

Damn near quick enough though ! Very close finish.

Correct, well spotted

G'Day all !
Results posted.A few DNF's this week but top of the table just keeps getting tighter. Excellent Racing 👍

Welcome aboard to our newest member : Northmeade.
Good effort first up on what is a tricky circuit.

Now for Round 8 !

Once again a stonking time from shotamagee! 👍
Good job, it's getting tight at the top now!
Have to get my skates on for Round 8! :mischievous:

Figured I would pull out the dazzle for a replay to YouTube if I placed top 3. :dopey: Well, my ego is shot. I did beat the 3 DNF's though. Points are points. No matter how you get them. 👍

Nice video viperin, great quality. What did you use to capture it?
Your driving here is very smooth, but, as you'd mentioned in your PM, a little conservative.
I'll be posting my somewhat more aggressive video, in my usual inexplicably poor-quality format later! :guilty:

I had fun driving the Elan on snow. It was a new experience with driving slow midget cars through severe conditions. I don't care if Smallhorses achieved more points than I did. I mainly care about having fun. And, maybe victory once in a while. :sly:

Thanks !

I use a gadget called "Easycap" usb device running through "Cyberlink Power Director" software.
Works very well, is easy to use but does produce large file size mpeg's.

Glad to hear that my friend, that is what it is all about ( the occasional Victory ! thing is just cake :) )

Yeah the Elan is just about perfect for this track, not too much weight, not too much power, it's a fun drive and also a great car to learn how to drive properly on the snow with.

Ok then, here you go...

The view from the 'copter cam showing the clean lap.

An alternate view of the "cool as a cucumber" Elan driver unflinchingly smiling his way around Chamonix,
whilst wearing what appears to be a colander (a la James May in Vietnam!!) and "Biggles" goggles on his head!
