Nice viperin! 👍
Love the photo too! Looks like it could have come straight from a '60s heist movie if it weren't for that sliver of modern saloon-car visible in the background.
Looking forward to this one. Crooooooow seems to have some secret ability at Motorland Reverse given his placings in 2 events there this week, but let's see if he can carry that on in Monaco. ;)

Great, we get to practice this one. I don't have to use my super secret trick from last round. :sly:

Yes ! Practice away, as it is not an easy challenge by any means.
I suppose if you told me your Motorland trick it would not be "super secret" any more :sly:

Thank you, it took a while but happy with result :)

Crooooooow did do well but he might find this a bit tougher, as overtaking is going to be key to a good result.

We shall see.

Sounds like fun as usual! 👍

Can we have the best lap time and placings separate? Can we have a race where we get a really good lap time but don't win, and then have another where the lap time is not as good, but win and count the better lap time and the win or does it all have to be in one race?

Oh, and it's really hard to get the lap times. Once you finish the race, it just tells you your two-lap-time total and not each separately. Is there a way to find the times?

Yeah. Wait for the results screen. Hit Save Replay. Watch Replay. Record your fastest laptime, which will more than likely be lap 2. Hit "Select" at any time during watching the replay to pause it. I suggest doing this just before you cross the line to end the race, this way you can record the minute and seconds, and that way you only need look out for the 3 decimal places for fractions of a second when the car crosses the line.
e.g. pause momentarily before the line, timer shows, for example, 3'13.474, write down, 3'13.___ then unpause and write down the figures when you cross, for example 3'13.801. This way you only have to remember 3 numbers, not 6.
Also if you have the replay saved you can watch it multiple times if you miss the numbers first time round.
You should be saving replays for at least a week after the event anyway just in case there's a dispute in the results. At least that's the way I work.

I can manage this challenge. Hell, I can take any challenge. You better watch your back Smallhorses, because I've got the sugar lumps to prove it. :sly:

Off for a mini-break in Portland, OR on Saturday until next Tuesday, so I've run my race here already.
Found a great 166pt lineup featuring: Honda NSX '01, Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4(J) '98, Tommy kaira ZZ-S '00, Nissan Skyline GT-R '91, Subaru Impreza Coupe 22B-STi Ver. '98 (although not necessarily in that order. :sly:)
Had lots of great races, but was striving, as ever, for the 100% clean races that I love. Eventually got one, and will produce a video after the results are out if anyone is interested in seeing it.
Time submitted...

Did not have time to employ my Super Secret trick I used last round. So I do not expect anything but a low placing for me. Had to go back to AT because of the close trans setting I felt the old seizures in my driving style coming back. Still forget many times that I don't have to brake when I downshift with GT4! That combined with that I'm so used to no contact/minimal with GT4 arcade side and FM3 (soon FM4, Christmas gift hopefully from the kids) made me miss many an opportunity in the turns.

Ran a few fun races with no thought of the rules, ie., bumper cars and boy are those AI opponents nasty.

Time has been submitted. I have received a surprising lap time due to goofiness of the lead AI vehicle. You know that last turn at Cote d'Azur, that one that sticks right out at your creating a sharp right turn. Well, the leader with a Plymouth Cuda just so happened to turn too soon, and crashed into the barrier. Causing all of the AI cars right behind him to ram into his rear. I just missed this pile up by nearly a foot, before I immediately swerved to the left and around the crash. They almost blocked the entire road, but my little Elan was small enough to fit through.

After thirty seconds of discombobulating with the AI, one dot on the map began moving down the road. This was an epic win for me. Lets see Smallhorses try to compete against my epic win now. :sly:

This seems like it would be quite an interesting thing to see... Care to upload a replay at some point in time, just for the crash?

I wish I saved the replay to capture screenshots or record a video through my camera.

G'Day all :)

Results posted.

Good racing 👍
Looking at times it would have been a real traffic jam at that last corner :nervous:

I think I may have to make the next round a bit tougher :sly::sly:we shall see :sly:
I am out and about at the moment with my laptop battery about to run out so I will set up round 6 when I get home in an hour or so.

Talk soon !

Pretty happy with that, due to winning margin I'll double check my replay when I get home, but I'm 99% sure its all good. Pending that race report to follow.

The race difficulty with with the AI I though was pretty good, its just that the Elan is well suited to narrow twisty stuff like Cote'd Azur.

Well I'll be. I thought I would have won this round due to my unfortunate victory.

Wow, nice job shotamagee. 👍

Nice job indeed :) very impressive.

Exactly my idea in setting this one up, I am glad it worked out.

After numerous attempts I managed a win against a 162 point field.
I will not say my Race was entirely contact free, I got shunted in the derriere a few times after some "Banzai" moves up the inside ( the AI tended to leave the door open and I am not one to ignore an invitation like that 💡 ).
I also got shunted into the wall near the "Swimming Pool" after passing the lead Car ( Nissan 300 ZX Z32 '89 ) but was able to pass up the inside again at La Rascasse.
A tough Race but I am happy to take the Win ( although a bit battered and bruised :ouch: ).

Well I'll be. I thought I would have won this round due to my unfortunate victory.

You probably suffered because you had no one to draft !
Anyway good job, as there are no unfortunate Victories, only fortunate ones :)

edit : The 162 point lineup was Nissan 300 ZX Z32 '89
Honda NSX '93
Subaru Legacy B4 '03
Audi S4
Subaru Impreza WRX STi Ver VI '99

I don't remember exactly which turn. but if you stop your replay a few turns before the end of the lap & pan around a bit there's a pool on the inside of the track with a couple hotties sunning themselves.

Extra points will be awarded for decent photomode shots of said Hotties
:lol::lol:

Replay check so here's my race report.
I submitted just before I went to bed last night, I was getting pretty tired/annoyed with the AI I had (had done about 10 races) so I quit and re-entered. The new grid order was; Mazda Rx-7 RZ, Nissan R32 GTR, Lotus Elise 190, Mitsu GTO MR & a Nissan R33 GTR (166 points). I had been having alot of trouble getting cleanly around the 2nd / 4th placed cars so seeing a GTR & GTO in those positions made me optimistic. (4wd's are generally slower than RDW's) This is what happened in my first race against these new competitors.

Race report;
First lap; Jump down the inside of the first R33 GTR into Mirabeau, while also manouvering to the outside of the GTO so that I can get alongside and then pass it on the inside into the Lowes hairpin. Later that lap I catch the Elise at the Nouvelle Chicane and then pass it at the swimming pool. I also get along side the R32 GTR exitting Rascasse, and we go side by side through Antony Noghes with me on the inside exitting in front.
The second lap starts with the R32 GTR giving me a decent nudge just before the braking zone for Sainte Devote, but I hold it and then chase down, and get alongside the lead RZ Rx-7 in time to jump down the inside at the Mirabeau hairpin. From there it was just finishing the lap cleanly to win by almost 5 seconds.
Track corner names

My best time until then had been 1:56's / 1:57's, (though the AI were getting in my way a bit for these), so when 1:54.224 came up I was pretty surprised. But Monaco can be like that, keep it tidy and off the walls and you can find big chunks of time.
