Mercedes' new AMG-powered M-Class will get its world premiere at this year's Frankfurt International Motor Show.

The ML 63 AMG, launching here in summer 2006, combines high engine speed concept and a large displacement to generate 46 per cent more output and 23 per cent more torque than the previous model.

The 6.3-litre V8-engine allows sports car performance, moving from zero to 62.5 mph in 5.0 seconds, and is currently the world?s most powerful naturally aspirated eight-cylinder engine in regular production.

Pricing and specifications will follow closer to the launch date.

For some reason it reminds me of a evo 6.

The front is sexy! Too bad this thing shouldn't really exist :(. If I wanted a fast and practical Merc, I'd spring for the E55! I heard the E55 Medical Car at the F1 race this year... ohh it has such a ridiculous exhaust note

My Dad's friend owns the current-gen M-Class AMG, I don't know wether he's had problems with it, I suppose he has with the awful car magazine survey ratings on the car. :( Fingers crossed this car should be better, and with that 6.3 litre V8.

I'm sure its great off-road with all that ground clearance 👍

It looks quite nice, will sound great and probably goes well - but is just pointless, especially since Merc will be sticking the same engine in everything between the SLK and LWB S-class. All of which will handle better on-road, and probably just as poorly off-road.

Me likes. 👍

But it won't help if they fall apart after 100 miles.

They have a 6.3 litre V-8? Then it's larger than the V-12 that they also have? Mercedes has so many different engines/same engines making different horsepower/different engines making the same horsepower it's not funny anymore.

If I needed a performance suv (noone ever needs a performance suv) I'd sure as hell get one of those.

Ultra: wtf is your av?

That, dear boy, is Kate Bush.

In my opinion the greatest female solo artist of all time, and shall be releasing a new album entitled "Aerial" after a 15 year gap.

I agree with Aretha and possibly Whitney, but Mariah hasn't really added much to the music scene.

I personally prefer artists who move the music game on a few hundred yards.

Didn't one of these (the old model) kill a C&D test driver?

Well Don Schroeder (the C&D driver) was killed in a RENNtech modified Mercedes Benz, not an AMG one, while testing the car's top speed. I can't find what car he died in though.

The only problem with it is that it looks, at first glance, almost exactly like the old one.

That tends to happen when they're the same car.

I like it. I'd hit it.
