I'm restoring and building a WWII era M1. It's gonna take a loooong time haha. I'll post some pics as soon as I get them on my computer!

Interesting. I look forward to the photo's.

Is there going to be a bayonet as well? :D

Well here in MA it's illegal to have a bayonet on any firearm so I need to apply for a special federal license first :-/

I have a friend with a original M1 Garand used in WWII, good condition.

They're hard to find in good shape, and the ones you can find aren't cheap. Still pricey to build one but it'll be over several months so it wont be too bad I hope

It wld b cool ta build a gun...im 14 and have a 1911 22 pistol and a sks with a folding banet...wut do u have

Try to correct your grammar it's against the AUP

Are you talking about the semi-automatic rifle?
I've played Battlefield: Bad Company 2 a lot and I've seen a lot of guys with that gun

I also use an iPod Touch to type on here and as you can see I have no problems.

Anyways, I can't wait to see some pictures. :)

You are gonna die, Mike. That was new.👍

M1 Garand's perhaps the most famous rifle from the WWII. Good luck with this project! 👍

I recently were given(was or were? lol) a Japanese WWII rifle, Arisaka. It's a "last ditch" model produced towards the end of the war, so it's really crudely built.

M1's are such beautiful rifles (irony). Good luck with your build, I look forward to seeing more!

Edit: mike, are you still alive?

What just happened here?

About the bayonet, I never knew there was laws against it. You learn something new every day!

Nice project. 👍
When the Garand empties its magazine and automatically ejects it, does it really make a pinging loud enough that enemy soldiers can hear it?
