Hello all,

I did use the search function, but found nothing that applies to my question.

Anyway, I asked for a steering wheel for christmas. My girlfriend bought me the Mad Catz wheel. I was hoping for the Logitech wheel, but oh well.

Anyway, I'm really having a difficult time with this wheel and as a result I drive absolutely terrible. My question is: Is this wheel a bad wheel? Do I just need to get used to it? and is there any way to adjust the settings for a "non-logitech" wheel?

I seem to remeber in previous GT games that one could adjust the response and or sensitivity of a wheel. However all I find is adjustments for the Logitech wheel(s).

Thanks for any and all help. I'm sure it bums her out to see me still playing the game with the controller and I'd really like to put her gift to use.

That is why never ask people for GIFTS that they do not have single clue. I mean it's really nice that she got you a wheel, but you could of point out about Logtiech wheel. Really Take it back get a logitech, you are really missing the great experience.
Yes it's a bad wheel, Get a GT DFP. You just have to suck it up to your GF and ask for a receipt, give her a kiss and go to the store together return and exchange for Ligitech GT (newest one) . Next week buy her nice jewelry. But yeah It's terrible wheel.

When you get the new wheel, it will be difficult at first. It will take few weeks before you get handle of it to beat your lap times that you did with a pad. Good luck and have fun.
Playing Great game with crappy wheel is really bad experience.

That wheel is spring loaded with vibration isn't it?
Yeh, I'd take it back, kick in another 40$ or so and get a dfgt, or kick in another 200$ and get a g25.

I made the mistake of paying about £45 in Argos for this wheel, and yes, it is terrible. I was so excited about using a wheel for GT5p and when I did, I felt really let down... I can't even return it with the Argos policy... It just sits in a box in my room now.

Anyone in the UK know where to buy a Logitech wheel? And a rough price also. I am based in Birmingham, so either somewhere is Birmingham or Solihul would be helpful if anyone knows of a shop that sells them... I really regret buying the wheel, and the bad thing is I can't return it. Plus I'd feel bad if I did return it because I pleaded my Mother to lend me the money for it, and when she finally did it was brilliant - until I tried it. (my Mother very rarely lends me money at all, so it was a big surprize)

Thanks guys. When I get my college bonus, I'll try to pick one up. I promised my Grandfather a CD player for his van first though.

Is this the MadCatz MC2 steering wheel?

I had one for GT4 and thought it was great....until i got myself a DFP. Trust me, go for a DFGT or G25, you'll never regret it

Yeah get the logitech you won't regret it, the madcatz one will just spoil your enjoyment. As for the UK question, just bought the DF GT from game £79.99 upgraded from the much cheaper EX modle......world of difference and well worth the extra money.

I am thinking about buying an EX, cant afford higher than that, no matter if it is a better deal, is it any good? I already have this :
http://www.game.co.uk/PS3/Hardware/Accessory/~r335642/Ferrari-Great-Experience-Wheel/

...and i hate it, there are so many problems with it like that most of the time the brakes are always on, and sometimes the thing steers left by itself, so yesterday i just gave up and started using a controller.

About the ex, does it only turn 90 degrees from the centre to lock? like that if you turn it all the way right the left directional button is pointing upwards?
But the biggest thing is...Is it worth the money???

Yes the EX only turns 90 degs each way a total of 180 degs. It is a good wheel for the money and if thats all you can afford then it's a very good option for GT5p, I personaly found it excellent for it, but if you play Ferrari Challenge then you'll need a 900deg wheel as the EX will prety much be next to useless. apart from Ferrari Challenge the EX works well with F1CE as well as GT5.
I would compare the EX to the 360 wheel but with much better build quality and stronger force feed back which can be a little notchy at times but overal slightly better at half the cost.

yeah, i have ferrari challenge, and my, as you might put it, UNIQUE wheel is terrible! i only tried using it for half an hour then went to using the controller. so i guess this won't be any better but that isnt the main game i am going to play on it anyway.
