Tell me your best lap time, good luck.

You may want to open this up to all JGTC GT-Rs (Unisia, Pennzoil, Arta, Calsonic) since the Arta can be tricky to attain. Besdies, they all have similar specs (702hp, 2601lbs.) and ages.

My best time with the Unisia Skyline is 1:19.895 @ 162.1 mph. I could probably get a better time, although I was busy and only had a little while to try. Damn that corkscrew!

It's no Arta Skyline but a Arta NSX!

You've 25% change ( :) ) to get it in the All Japanese GT Championship in the Amateur League or in the Special Stage Route 11 Endurance

I dunno about the "Anisia" 'cuz I've never seen a "Anisa" :odd:
I think you've made a typo or something!

Maybe it's in the NCTS-version (I've the PAL-version)! :)

The pic of an Arta Skyline is in the first post RX ;) Hey, and there's always the edit button just in case.

Did you just click on the wrong forum? That's happened to me before too. :embarrassed:

The Arta Skyline can be won by winning the GT500 series. However, it's a randomly awarded car, so you may win a Takata NSX/Taisan Viper/Cerumo Supra instead.

Who's this menu character? He seems to post in every race topic with a great time, but never comments on anything. And he's new. Sounds suspicious....1:06 on Laguna in a Skyline sounds pretty damned fast.

Yeah, I didn't want to say anthing, but 1:06 is over a second faster than the incredible times posted over at www.racingline.org 's Laguna Seca 4WD times.

Well, I beat his 600LM time @ Rome Night...he hasn't appreared much lately. I haven't taken this time trial to heart yet, anyhow.

Somewhere in Idaho, I guess.

1:06 is about a second slower than my time in a R390, I think. Or maybe I ran a 1:06 in it. Maybe it was 1:07? >_<

i really did post a 1:06 a laguna seca. i was 6 seconds behind my brother (he was racing the saleen sr, as usual) and i was getting very angry. i usually own at laguna seca, but i was doing bad. i started posting 1:10's and then my brother posted a 1:08. I really got mad then and started to go, go, go, go. i was catching up when i pulled the 1:06 and i was amazed. so was my brother. he thought it was a glitch. and to all you guys, i don't lie on these forums. i am dead serious. if you check, i lost to pupik at rome night in the venturi lm. i assure that i really ran that lap.

The best I could muster was a 1:11.539. I wonder ,could slow car boost in options, have helped in getting that 1:06. I'm not disputing your claim. I've been beaten here at Leguna before, by one guy by 4 sec. I think Davey was in that challenge too, he came in 2nd with a 1:05.??? I believe. Can't remember who it was that won tho, he was in to the 1:04s. Hey 88,try running that car at the time trials and see what you can get at that track and let us know how you did. If you can come close to a 1:06. then your really on to somthin. Your brother must be pretty darn good to run 1:08s in the saleen sr too. Any how ,thanks for suggesting the race. good luck.

I'll have to try for a best lap at Laguna later on tonight. Except I don't have any uberly good cars, since my old file got deleted. I'll have to try in my Elise and Esprit GT1s, and maybe buy some cars.

Altezza LM -------------- 1:09.828
One of the few cars that's given me trouble on the corscrew. Had to tune the suspension a little lighter for the preceding hill and the last turn, so I could slide into it more effectively. Could shave off a liiiittle more time, only ran bout 10 laps. Nice run for an under 591 car.

Esprit GT1 LM ----------- 1:09.219
Mmmm, my favorite under 591 car. I just love it. You can actually slide, drift, and grip with the same setup, which makes it great for this track. Slide the first and second turns, grip the second, grift/drift the 3rd, grip the 4th, corkscrew (just make it down somehow, it's tough...gotta end it at 80mph or higher to be clean), grip the long bend, slide the next, slide the last. Amazzzzing car.

Pennzoil GT-R ----------- 1:08.590
Well, it certainly wins a place in my heart for fastest through the corkscrew. Its really it's strong point on this track. Lowered the rear downforce so I could throw it through the turns nicely. For some reason, I couldn't get it through the last turn as easily as the Esprit. Great car, I just prefer MR.

Atlantique 600 GT ------ 1:07.007
Can't go wrong with a lovely power-to-weight ratio. most underrated car, anyone? It's like an overpowered, little heavier Esprit. Slides, grips. Sounds nice. A whole second faster than any other car in the first sector alone. Needless to say that with better tuning and a better lap, it could break 1:07.

So there's my best pick for Laguna.

well my goal was the 1.06, however this was my 1st time trial event online so the best I could muster was 1:11.982 at 163.89 with the Unsia. I chose the wrong tires - super soft:lol:

Do you like to slide or grip in the Skyline?

If you like to powerslide the corners, put springs at 17/17 or lower, ride height a few clicks from minimum, dampers at 8 all around, and stabs at 5/6 to cover the understeer. Put front downforce at max, and rear downforce about 3/4ths of the way up. You'll be able to get the rear around easier now to slide, and come out of a slide easier. If you want to drift, you can use a similar setup to this but put harder tires on the rear so they slide out. But I don't really reccomend drifting Laguna.

If you like to grip, put the springs at 16.5/18, ride height minimum, dampers at 8/10 and 10/8 to kill the oversteer 4WD cars tend to have on corner exits. You can decide camber for yourself (it's optimum to actually find the perfect settings with camber through trial-and-error, but I didn't bother last night), and toe at -.5/0. Stabilizers at 6/7. Downforce max. This should be an over-grippy Skyline.

Oh yeah, for a change, I ran the Cultus here...ran something like a low-mid 6. Not too far off from it's cousing the Escudo. That damned spoiler is friggin huge, though.
