maintaining drift thru whole corner problems

i acidently double posted so ignore my other thread but i dont see the first post of this so ill just reply with wha ti originally said. some turns i cant drift the whole way like 3/4 of it only. i regain traction then start to go again. what can i do to go the whole way around. like 1st turn of midfield and Special stage 11

Sounds like a problem with tuning. What are your settings? Or, even better is if you could post a replay that would really help. But settings works too.

Everyone always points their fingers at the setup... tisk tisk. Perhaps you haven't developed the skills to maintain a drift for long periods of time. Using the same car with the same exact setup and same amount of hp I went from having the same problem as him to drifting large sections of course, which I previously had problems with, in one consistent drift. It's 10% setup and 90% driver.

I agree in most situations, but if he feels he is doing all he can, then he should tune it so that it feels right for him. Then when he learns how to control that style, he will adjust it better next time. I don't think that it's 90% driver. As far as doing a perfect drift it's 100% driver, because anything can be drifted flawlessly, but a better tuned car will help a driver learn faster if you ask me.

maybe add just alittle more power, but dont over do it

i dont have much experience, but ill help too :D
yes, the car should maybe have a little more power to it, i recommend downgrading to sprts exhaust and upgrading to racing intercooler, at least thats what i did.
another thing i did was when i felt the car was regaining traction i immediatly stopped countersteering at turn the wheel in the right direction as much as needed to lose traction again. if i needed to i just finished the turn tunrning the right way, but i was still drifting.

yeah thats right more power need try to 450hp ( not more )
otherwise spin or out of control . try maintain the brake & speed . thats i can say ....im not good in fr or others but still can drift ...:D :)

i had that problem before too. i solved it in a more simple manner. i increased my entry speed and put a little bit more angle onto my drift.

ive used the cwest silvia as a drift car and i was successful but i still didnt like it (as a drift car)

Yup race arent very good drift car. They just handle too well.

As for power, i recommend Putting hp to the max. Because increased power means increased wheelspin/sliding. But on the downside , you do need better throttle control.

Now as for that first corner in SS5 ( or any long corner), well, if your using the C-West S15 with 331 hp, it might be kinda tough , unless you pretty god at drifting. ( are you using Sim tires?)

Id agree, get a Diff. car. Get a 180 Fastback, pump it up to 400 +HP, slap on some sims, and go bonkers! And practice a lot

come on guys there is just the naturally talented like me..
just kiddin i suck but i've not not many guys drift Laguna Seca is there any reason for that?... and also... why the hell do you all drift at like 30mp/h, i know it's exibition but come on can't we go abit faster... heheh
arghhhhh... i finally let it all out

id say the best all around car would be like a 180sx or a chaser, i love my chaser , lots of angle and i rarely spin out. I've never tried the Razo Silvia fot drifting, havn't had the urge to win it.

are u serious, 400hp on sims is un-nessasary with sims, 270 would prolly be perfect fo the 180, maybe less. 400 hp, would just be stupid, you would spin the tires all the way down the straight, u would prolly even have problems going straight

Laguna Seca, not 30mph. :D

As for why people don't drift it, I think it's because there aren't many corners you can link. I do think it is a pretty fun course though, but kinda boring. That video I made was my fourth try at drifting on that course.

I agree about the slowness. I don't necessarily try to go super fast but I do try to go as fast as possible with the setup that I have, because the faster I go, the better my line will be, and if you ask me the line it the biggest part of the drift. A good drift with a bad line is a contradiction in terms.

because that's the same way they do it in D1GP. if you want speed drifting, go to the bizaro universe where drift is fast and grip is slow.

I say the CWest silvia has enough power to drift without adding horsepower upgrades, instead of rapidly tapping the gas you should hold onto it more and just push it down more when you feel it straightening out, and don't pull your analog stick all the way to the opposite direction as soon as you start drifting.

my 180sx has about 345hp or so and I have a couple other cars on sims with around 400hp, so it's really all preference. I find that with more that 350hp on sims, it's harder to make the drifts look clean, but it's still possible.
