I want to built a good rally car, and i'm thinking about building it on a renault turbo 5 platform, but i'm not sure. i have about 300K to spend. Whats your suggestion?

Would you try Lotus Elise? I read somewhere that someone was going to try that but never saw the results. It makes sense though, a car that light is an interesting rally choice, and being MR should give it the balance it needs to be a force.

Okay, i just bought a lotus elise 111R 04. I did all the mods, except for the turbo. I'm going to screw around with it for a while, i'll try it in rally, give me some tios along the way.

My Audi S4 dominates everything in all the rally stages - with a stock transmission, stock brakes, stock LSD, no nitrous. It is several seconds ahead of the competition on all the hard rallies, especially tsukuba wet.

weight reduction & N/A tune are at stage 2.

me personally i have SLR Mclaren that wins my races in rally conditons for me. before though i used my first car a 2000 tommy makinen edition evolution. it has just enough power and it is very stable. it handles tight turns just as good and really hauls. here are the upgrades i put in it.

turbo lvl 3
intercooler
muffler level 3
all wieght reductions
rigidy refresher plan
roll cage
lvl 3 suspension
s 3 or r 3 tires (it will say on bottom, tire has good balance between grip and duration)
1.5 limited slip differential
lightwieght flywheel
6 speed transmission
carbon driveshaft
you got 300k. spend it good. i would say the SLR Mclaren but the car alone is about 625,000 dollars.
