FM3 pun intended...:sly:

I am starting a little project. I want to make the most "definitively" epic GT5 trailer/commercial (essentially the same). I have every single video of GT5 from gametrailers in HD. Although I am missing the European intro cinematic (link?). Obviously I need to some music to this trailer (I would probably not want to combine songs). This is my list of song choices so far:
- Requiem for a Dream remix 2*
- Ten Years in Kashmir (Corner Stone Cues)*
- Carl Orff o fortuna*
- Matrix Reloaded Soundtrack - Chateau
- X-Ray Dog Gothic Power*
- Gran Turismo 4 Ending song
- 'Lacrimosa (Choir)' - Immediate Music
- Paul Oakenfold - Ready Steady Go
- Gran Turismo 4 - Moon Over the Castle Original Soundtrack
- Star Wars Soundtrack - Duel of the Fates
- Moon Over the Castle ( Gran Turismo 2 Soundtrack )
- clubbed to death - Matrix soundtrack
- Matrix Reloaded Soundtrack - Freeway Chase
- Gran Turismo 4 - Moon Over The Castle (orchestral version)
- Immediate Music - Rising Empire*
- E.S. Posthumus - Unstoppable*
- Slash's Snakepit - Speed Parade
- Golden Earring - Radar Love
- Steppenwolf - Born to be Wild
- Don't Stop Me Now by Queen

The ones with the * I think are the best. What are your suggestions for an epic GT5 trailer song? On this list which one should I choose? I have a pretty high standard for what is considered epic so no random rock songs or silly techno tracks:tdown:. Thanks.

Make sure the NASCAR section is given better sound like the commercial that other user did. The SPEC V GTR could be a bit more menacing, too. And the Subaru, oh please make it more badass.

It will be epic that is all I can promise. I may add real life engine noises over the existing ones. Check out my MGS4 trailer on youtube. That was my very first video. Since then I have made a couple just not put them on youtube. This may take me about a week but it will be worth the wait I promise.

Eh.. Not a fan of your particular * choices.. They have a dark doomy feeling to them. Good songs though of course.

Joe Satriani - Summer Song from GT4 soundtrack.. Love it. It has a fun and uplifting quality too it while still while still being "cool". Wish they had used it instead of Panama. Then again I wish they had just used Moon Over the Castle instead of everything. Damn americanization.

Cardigans - My Favorite Game was awesome from GT2 but you can't reuse that..

Gemini Five - Second II None is another one of my driving songs. It also makes a statement to Forza. ;)

Kasabian - Club Foot made a good intro song for one of the Tony Hawk games.

Tomoyasu Hotei - Battle Without Honor Or Humanity
. I also like the song they used in the GT HD Ferrari unveiling. Mainly because the change in music when they show the Ferrari. Some people will recognize it from Kill Bill.

Brainbug - Nightmare (Sinister Strings Remix) - If you wanna go the dark ominous direction. I mainly like the build up. Things like this allow you to have a certain pace in the video. You'd have to find a section of the song that suits your needs.

Even though I feel like I wanna say that I don't prefer the lyrics in something like this.. Eh.. These are the songs I can think of right now..

Sorry, don't want to ruin your excitement, but surely polyphony will make the definitive trailer closer to the release, including new unseen footage. Isn't yours just going to be a compilation of old trailers using footage already seen soooo many times, just in a different order?

My favorite game from the cardigans was soooo good!
Liked Kasabian too, but don't remember in what GT that was , if it was..

You Just need "Requiem for a tower" from Clint Mansell.
This will make everything epic. See here

A friend of mine is tuning cars and I made a video for him about his last project. There I also used this track.

Sorry 'bout the house advertising :)

i say you should use ready steady go. before i made a little one, but it was slightly rubbish. here it is : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1Tt5J6IaN4

watch in hd if you want.

That was not rubbish at all, in fact it was quite good. lol.

Haven't all the trailers for GT5p been like that. Anyways its the best anyone can do. I am sure once GT5 actually comes out we will see some great fan trailers but for now this is what we got.

nahh, it's been used in sooo many videos... :)

I agree but it really is that good. It does make almost anything seem "epic". And it just works well for trailers. It is over used but not without merit.

Personally I do not get a gloomy feeling from the songs I selected. Sure they are not "sunshine and rainbows" but I do not think they are dark. The only exception being "Gothic Power". They rest are more cinematic or triumphant than dark and foreboding. I do like some your song choices though. Mostly that GTHD song, "Club Foot" and "Summer Song". Nightmare is a good but a little repetitive. I am not a huge fan of Gemini Five but thats just me.

I don't really like the last four songs. It's too normal. I like the other songs.

And @ the tuning video. I would use HipHop beats like in Midnight Club!:sly: But nice video however. A Paskowitz: Good luck with making a trailer!

Songs in first post are very cliched.

To really succeed, you need to use something that people haven't heard/wouldn't expect.

I think that makes it much harder though, as you'll have to listen to a massive amount of songs to find something that works really well.

Indeed it would've made an awesome intro. It was featured in the 1996 Formula One game for PS1, since then I always referred to it as "the Formula One song" until I found out the real name in GT4.

Cliched? Really I know requiem for a dream is cliched and say lacrimosa but I have never heard 10 years in kashmir or speed parade played to anything. Also just because something is played a lot does not make not good. I mean we all know songs like Freebird are played every 2 seconds on the radio but it is still a good song.

damn bro, invest in a tripod, and chrome was meant to be shot at night, specially with that paint job

Yes I know, very shaky footage. :nervous: But I had that camera only for one day and I didn't have a tripod then...
So it was more like: "Get your car over here, let's shoot a little video!" Not really planned.

The Slash song isn't a cliche, but the other songs are very predictable, even Kashmir.

I never said that a cliched song is a bad song. They're just predicatable songs. Some songs sound cliched even if they aren't used very often.
