Hi all;

Well a back to back run of the Grand Valley 300;

Same car, different opponents but this was a tire and time test only...
[HondaS2000 PP450 - Note I run 0 TC and ABS set to just 1]

Less detailed notes for much of the racing, but some more details in the average laps times etc as I made better notes along the way.. [most of the time..]

First Stint : S:S

Gaining lead time all the way through the first 19 laps...
But lap time dropped off significantly;
Lap 17 2:17
Lap 18 2:19
Lap 19 2:23 [after a drifting issue ;) ]

Lap 20 - Tires very shot, last tiny sliver on the front left, rest have very little more, even lost the last of the life on the FL in the pitlane!

First stint: 45.22.150 - AVG LAP TIME ~ 2:16
[Matches my 1st race Avg lap time...so this car, this set up and my driving, S:S 2.01 = S:S 2.02 ?? ]

Saved

Running a S:H Comp test in Stint 2

S:H Feel very light / slippy - not the grip I'd got used too on S:S!

End Lap 21 - Lead 13.9s

2nd place car [ RX-7 RS(FD) '98 ] Pits end of his lap 28, so no real change in AI behavior?
Maybe driving slower, need a test with the NSX-R.

Lap 30 1/2 way home;

Lead ~1:17
Race time 1:08:48 - AVG LAP TIME ~2:17.5

AVG LAP TIME LAST 10 [S:H] ~ 2:20
Took some time to 'switch on' looking good for 20 laps...
Though rear wear is up a bit, maybe need my TC back?

End Lap 33; lapping in the 2:18 - 2:20 area.
Lead down to 1:15 trying for steady laps..

End lap 37;
Too much drifting now, rears near gone, lead under 50s

Lap 38;
errors a plenty, lost another 5s on this lap alone
Neither careful or drifty is working now

Lap 40;
Error at 2nd hairpin, into the barriers, S:H not lasting any better overall
Though its the rears gone, and no grip for acceleration at all by now
a 2nd error, and pit.

Lead down to 20s

Saved;
RACE time 01:32:48 ~ AVG LAP TIME 2:19

2nd half of S:H stint ~ Avg Lap Time 2:24

Whole S:H Stint ~ Avg Lap Time 2:22

C:S Stint [10 laps only]

End Lap 41; 19.5s down and on C:S
Feeling good compared to what I just left in the pits - let see how they hold up and what lap times?

Lap 42; 20.5s down
Lap 43; 19.7s down {tires switched on}

End lap 49; 38.8s down, I can very much see why this is a drifters car on C:S ;)
Will pit at end of 50; No fuel and S:S for a sprint finish, if the RX-7 pits as the NSX did will it be a race?

Lap 50 PIT; [Forgot to note race time = No avg lap time for the C:S run :( )

End lap 51; 1.07s down

67s in 9 laps.. the chase is on..

Ohh and when F1 drivers talk about new tires and low fuel - I totally get it now ;)
This car is so alive again!

Lap 52; 58.2 down

Lap 53; 48.4 down [10s that lap, best lap of the race!]

Lap 54; 35.9 down [Might even do this with out a pit stop for the RX-7...]

Lap 55; 26.1 down

Lap 56; 5.2 down, as I pass the RX-7 in its pit box...

Lap 60 win by ~35s

Total race time 02:19:15 RACE AVG LAP TIME ~ 2:19 [3s per lap overall slow than first run]

Good test, nice win.
Just curious, does the ave lap of the SH include the pit as well (1st pit)?

Hi jtv;

Thanks for you comment

Regarding the stint end times, they were taken once stationary on the pit box
[for easy of getting] so I guess the lap averages are based on aprox 'half pit stop time' in each stint.

All said and done, 20 laps is too long for this car / setup - on S:S or S:H...

Also I have a 3rd run I need to write up, this time in a 420pp 86GT '12 ... vs an NSX Type R...

I didn't win :( ...
