Must have raced and ran qualify laps almost 100 times and can't get below 1:07 in n200 at Blue Moon Bay II this week so far. I just got a new wheel and I'm even beginning to the the throttle potentiometer might be bad. Or I could just suck.

Getting a sub 1.17 is all about nailing the last corner. You need to get a good exit to start the lap ive found that crossing the line at 116mph is acceptable, reduced speed loss through the first 2 corners by taking smoothly and then nail last corner again. I run 0 traction and 2 FWD Brake Bias

I have found in the races that I brake a lot earlier than others going into the last corner, I hit the apex and come out a lot faster. Most people are too late on the brakes for that corner.

I ran 3 races last night won 2 and was 4th in the third. Twice I've been punted on the last corner on the last lap. First time i was far enough forward that it didn't impact me, just pushed me further ahead and i still won. The second I was second with slipstream and good position only get punted by the guy in 4th trying to take 3 cars, I got no penalty for that either so showed I was not at fault.

This atenza really sucks. It's engine is too weak for it's size. Why was this one included in the game? It's terrible. Even as a gr3 car.

Try adjusting your brake bias

Am I missing something? All the options are locked and you can't change your brake bias or any other car setting in this race?

Last corner is the main one, I tend to brake fairly late but don't slam down on the brakes, I don't hit the apex (go a bit wider to maintain speed) and exit at 83-85 mph. The first corner after the start line is also one you can pick up a tenth or two, it's all about how early you can straighten up the steering on the exit.

I've just done a 1:06.653 with a pad, best potential being a 1:06.585

*And it changed my bloody tyres when I went into the race AGAIN!!

Now that I have my 65 pole positions I'll say what worked for me:

1) Shift early, like when the red line is half full in hood view and shift into 5th at 87mph or so
2) You'll never ever get your fastest lap on the first lap, get the last turn of your last lap perfect and try to hit 106/107mph as you cross the finish line
3) I am not using ABS, though I've been told it doesn't matter
4) My BB is at -4, all for the last turn
5) Speaking of the last turn, hit the outer wall and don't brake until you cross the red/white sign on the left. Brake just hard enough to dropit to 90mph while staying on the outer edge of the turn (barely crossing into the 3rd lane if you will). Once you see she's at 90mph, hit the gas hard and keep her wide. BB -4 here helps and its a line that no one really beats you with as you approach the finish line. Only the super-duper fasty guys may be able to in a race, or someone gets bump drafted.
6) Turn 1 keep along the outer wall until 2 signs past the last brake marker (I think says 100?) then turn in a little sharp to ease in the turn and stay off the yellow line for the optimal line
7) Turn 2 I tend to keep it really tight through here and exit pointed directly at the sign I mentioned in step 5

Brake Bias and TCS can be adjusted anytime on anycar. Unlike suspension settings, these are always adjustable, on-the-fly, from the HUD while driving.

Thanks, I'll try that when I go back in. Could not do it from the setup menu, but didn't try from the hud.

Yeah, that last corner was kicking my ass. I got down to 1:06.5 this morning and was in second place at the start. Much nicer than being 9th or 10th. :)

Thanks, I'll put it into action.

GL! My best splits say 1:05.955 and have all week long  :ouch: I think I had a magic lap going to get deep into the .9s but I was stopped short because the next race was starting and I was only 4 seconds away too. #sobstory

I've posted about that bug here, on the official forums, and even tweeted @thegranturismo .... but have yet to have any kind of acknowledgement or confirmation.
You can avoid getting the wrong tires for the race by entering the warm-up and simply sitting in the pitlane... if you don't, you'll get screwed with the hard tires, which are about 2 seconds a lap slower -- and each time I've gotten the hard tires, something happened and killed my clean-race streak!

Haha, you and me that last race man.

Never say never! My current fastest of 1:06:486 was done on the first lap.
I know it should be easy to go faster on subsequent laps, but third qualy and still nada
