Manual Drifting?

Hi forum this may sound like a completely beginner question to most of you pros out ther (because it is) so I have become really good at drifting automatic, but then the real world hit me and I noticed I could NEVER drift my Isf <3 unless I was drifting manual :grumpy: so I Decided to start but now that im drifting manual everything is alot harder and I suck alot any tips, tricks or ways to practice it would be greatly appreciated

First you need to map your controller config to something comfortable. I use a setup similar to what I used on Forza. I downshift with "Square" and upshift with "Circle", its worked for me great. So to get comfortable with the button layout and shifting, try just doing some little SSR7 drag races. Its best if you practice with one car because youll be able to recognize the sound of the engine when you need to shift quicker then if you switch cars a lot.

Once a bit comfortable, do a little bit of racing to get further use to it. When you feel youre ready, start drifting. It only took me a few days to get really use to it, and that was on another game with a clutch button as well, so you shouldnt struggle too much. Good luck, I hope I helped.

first try getting used to driving regulary with manual. Then step by step try increase your "agressive factor"and be more offensive with shift(rev up just b4 the limiter hits etc)and last try and see when your car starts spinning, this will help you control the car.

I prefer square for downshift and o for upshift. And triangle for handbrake.

I also got speed freaks on my ds3 which prevents slipping of fingers and giving me more accuracy.

Manual is much better for drifting in my opinion. Because With automatic it shifts at redline and sometimes you want your car too hit the redline.

An automatic transmission will not allow you to keep the engine in the optimal powerband which is required to drift properly. Once you learn how to shift a manual it will become second nature and you won't even have to think about it.
