manual gears on G25 not working after update

I finally updated GT6. Now, when I choose 'manual' transmission, neither my sequential shifter nor the paddles will change gears. In options, all is configured correctly. The G25 shifter/paddles work in other games, so it seems to be an issue with GT6. It was working fine before this current update.
Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: stick shift doesn't work at all. Only L1 (left paddle) works so that pressing L1 shifts gear up, and depressing clutch and L1 shifts gear down. L2 doesn't work at all. Sometimes the game, even when in MT, auto shifts gears for me!!

I'd recommend checking all your wires just in case.
If not, something got corrupted during the update. If so, you're going to have to delete the game data and install the updates again.
Also check to make sure the button mapping didn't change.

Thanks for replying.
The button mapping is correct. It is unlikely the wiring as I haven't opened the wheel, and furthermore it seems to work properly on other games, so it looks like a reinstall....

My paddles work on my G27, but my clutch and gear shift have not worked in the last couple weeks. I don't use them for racing, just for fun drives and I have not done a fun drive in a while.

I remember way back there was something special that was needed to get the clutch and shifter to work, but I don't remember what it was since I first got them working. I'll have to read up on it again.

Don't use simple cars with fully customizable transmissions or any cars that you know have paddles or automatic transmissions. Detailed cars with sticks are pretty much the only thing you can do if you don't want a noncustomizable transmission on the simple cars.

I'll check on the transmission type on the car in I try out next time. Normally it's one of the older Ferrari's, A Cobra 427 or a Corvette. They all have manual transmissions.
