Manufacturer R event suspension?

Just wondering if anybody has any opinions about what suspension the opposition uses in the R modded manufacturers events. Just racing the ZZ series with R mod and it seems like although I have sport tires they are handling better than me on stock suspension, so I'm thinking maybe they have sport suspension.

Just curious if anybody is pretty sure about upgrades the R mods enjoy in the manu's events. Let me know.

This thread has a list of some events and the tires that AI uses. It only has the Altezza Cup listed, but it may give you an idea.

Yeah, that's a very informative thread. I bumped it once not too long ago so people would notice it again. At this point I've pretty much pulled all the data out of it. Have even tried to track down sucahyo to get help on trying to pry into the game so that I can answer these questions myself, but he's MIA.

Am repeatedly running the Celica event at this point, non R modded, and just can't figure out what setup the competition is running. I can win with even a stock SS-II Mechanical Celica, though the GT-Four '95 has a much better weight-to-power ratio and I assume that's what everybody's tuned to. When I add a NA tuning and a couple other things to get my SS-II to the same ratio I get the same basic acceleration off the line as everybody else, though the 4WD's get that initial lurch that my FF doesn't, so I think this is about the right ratio.

Trouble is, after winning I watch the AI drive my car for a couple laps, and I get left in the dust! What's going on?!? The competition can't be running on stock tires and suspension is my first guess, so I add sports suspension, then sports tires, then up my hp further, then hard slicks, and no matter how far I go, though I'm much faster than everybody else off the line now, I still get left in the dust after the race when the AI takes over. Everybody else is coming into corners faster and bumping me from behind, then cutting in and existing faster. Maybe semi-racing suspension and soft slicks? This just seems like too much for a non-R manufacturer's event.

The thing is, in the couple dozen other manufacturer's events I've looked at, I'm pretty sure the competition in the non-R event is on normal tires and suspension, and usually if I can win the event, I don't get passed much after the event by the AI once the rubber band catches everybody up, so this one is just driving me crazy trying to figure it out.

Any thoughts?

It's probably just the AI that is particularly bad with that particular car/setup. If you can have a close race with the AI, there's probably nothing wrong with your setup. That's the whole point isn't it? To have good, close races with equally matched cars. It doesn't matter how the AI drives it after you finish, as long as the race itself is enjoyable. That's how I'd look at it.

Sucahyo seems to have vanished from the internet. His personal homepage is gone, and he hasn't posted at all in the other forum he usually visits (vrgt.com) since around 2 years ago. I'm worried something serious happened :nervous:

Update on sucahyo: not trying to be a web stalker, but I emailed the whois listed admin for his website cellphonespecs.com and he got back to me with two current email addresses for sucayho. just emailed him to ask for help cracking into the data on tire types, and encouraged him to drop back by here. We'll see if he responds...

Sucahyo if you're out there, it wouldn't be rude if you stopped in and said hello!
