MANUFACTURES AND WORKS TIME ATTACK CHAMPIONSHIP​

I was thinking of doing another online championships on Sunday evenings from the 15th of April 2012. It will be a time attack series where we will be competing for two championships:

MANUFACTURES HOTLAP CHAMPION
GTPLANET WORKS HOTLAP CHAMPION​

So what does the manufacturers championship entails:

- two similar performance cars will be raced each week on the same track
- two time attacks will be raced with each car
- followed by two time attacks with the WORKS CAR for that week
- the manufactures cars will vary from Class C to Works
- the 3rd race is a works converted car, unless specified, engine swaps are allowed
- tuning and upgrades will be user defined
- a different set of cars and a new track will be raced each week
- the WORKS CAR will be raced each week and on the same track as the two manufactures cars

Time

Sundays 6pm GMT

Points

Three sets of points will be allocated. Your fastest time in each TT will count each week eg:
1 - fastest time with Manufacturers Car 1
2 - fastest time with Manufacturers Car 2
3 - fastest time with the Works car

This series is open to all regardless of being fast or not, as long as you are a clean and fair racer. The main aim is to race the cars collecting dust in the garage. There are so many cars in S2U which is a hell of a lot of fun to race, but are not used because of not being competitive online or in career. This is an opportunity to have a bit of fun with them. So if you are interested please put your name down 👍

Are there any particular car , or combination of cars you want to race?

In B class, the DB9 will make around 60 extra HP over the XKR. The Jag is close to the V8 Vantage in B class however.

Ahh SteveO sorry to hear that mate , but you know you are always welcome to join us lot whenever you have some time on a Sunday. You, Flx, hondy and all the other guys from the previous series's are always free to join 👍

I have been busy compiling car combinations and matching tracks. I must say I am having a hell of a lot of fun in doing this. I bought cars I have never bothered with and what a pleasure upgrading / downgrading and playing around with them it has turned out to be. Sort of a new lease of life playing S2U again. Once again I realised S2U is not getting the credit it deserves as a racing game. It takes time and practice, but the pleasure of this game is most rewarding. I think people are just giving up to quickly trying to get to grips with it.

I hope to have the provisional calender of cars and tracks up by Sunday 08/04/12

That's so true. Every car has a sweet spot of fun, but unfortunately, they aren't all right under that 500, 1000, or 1500 PI.

I have done away with the race bit and changed the third race to an AWD Scion TT. The reason is solely due to the lag problem and collision detection that is so poor. It is not if you are going to be taken out in a race, but rather when. This is not anyone's fault but to avoid frustration and conflict, I have decided to make it a hotlap series only.

It took me quite a few hours to match cars and circuits. I have tried as best as I could to balance performance, but I don't claim that the matches are perfect. However, with a bit of tuning and upgrades, they are pretty equal. My list of car duals is by no means exhausted. I have really only picked the ones that are fun to race. I hope you guys like it and see you on the track this coming Sunday.

Hi zee i think you have choose only 2 cars is not use online race but the 24 cars left is all use in race online you should be chose like golf mk1. Seat leon. Ford focus like this its slow car so its have more fun because you said dust its means cars not use because its slow sorry mate iam only saying ...but this your champ... Now look closer to the list, first part is boring but then excitement kicks in, Mclaren And Zonda, M1 Procar and Merc 190, Lancia Delta.

I would only add MP4 12-C to this list cause no one is ever race with this car. Probably lying there all alone not even ever Works converted

lol ussr I have not forgotten the MP4 12-C. My fear is the works conversion bit. I made the mistake of works converting the Corvette Z06 and it was undriveable after that. Maybe you can give me some advice if it is a good idea or not??? Probably my favourite car in the game is the Lotus Exige. I run it C and B class and it is a nippy little thing. For the same reason I have not works converted it.

I am not sure if the other racers taking part, has works converted the Lotus Exige. I would love to race it other than works. But you guys probably have the works done??

As I have said, I have not used all the combinations on my list. There are still the Muscle, some Legends and one or two in game cars to use.

BTW how many of you guys have the SpeedHunters DLC?

You can Works convert MP4 12-C 👍 it wont be as good as other cars in it's class, like Veyron, Huraya or Gumpert but at least it's easy do drive, it breaks and accelerates as it should be.

It's still very drivable fun car. I could compare it to Gumpert Apollo. Does not loose anything from being great car. And only gets extra speed, breaks, acceleration.

And if someone still wants to race base one, then it waits for him in Modern A Invitational Race

Make backup copy of your save file and check it before you put MP12 on this list.

all nice cars m8....nice options for online races and fun cars to drive...I just miss more rwd instead a 4wd, but it's fair enough..

I often have freezing problems in Pergusa, don't know if it's the same for u guys...

i have both fully worked mp12 and exige...but i cud use the elise if u want to put it in the list...

DLC pack...I have it, recommend the Lexus and the Challenger...Both fast and not so hard to drive...Lancer is pretty quick to, but 4wd...

mmm...I noticed now looking at the list there are too many AWD's thiagoturbao. You are right mate. I changed the Week 1 cars. Please note the Lexus is max Class B and the Porsche's upgrades are fixed at 1520. It is a nice mix and with the right tune the Lexus should just about pip the Porsche to the line.

I have avoided Mount Panorama and Nordschleife due to the freezing issues. We'll keep a watch on the other tracks, if anyone has a problem we can always change.

This I gotta see in action. It's not that I don't believe you, it's just that I've never seen it done. I know the Vette is fast, but I didn't know it was that fast.

Can anyone verify if the Rotor 3 RX-7 is the same as the NFS RX-7? I didn't get the NFS version when I beat the works championship.

I have the Speedhunters DLC, and my Exige is works converted. Is there a different car we could drive instead of the Scion each week. I don't personally have as issue with it, but I feel like there are other cars that people don't drive often that could be considered:

Radical SR3-RS
Acura NSX
Aston Martin V8 Vantage
Pagani Zonda R
etc.

I sent you my tunes, try again..To be honest i just know 3 drivers (Hondy, Steve and 1 xbox guy) can clock that times, so i guess u can't see this online, but i did that on career, muscle and works champion, Mt Panorama at night...

No, I have both , both drive the same speed, but u got much more grip on the NFS version, did you finish work events with podium in all races? how can't you get it?? it's a nice car, use it a lot on retro A class online...

You guys are hard to please lol

I have changed the format of the series. Thinking about it, racing the same car each week ( Scion) will become boring. So I changed the third TT to a WORKS TT, racing a different works converted car each week. It took me a few hours to match car and track again and I can assure you they all gel very well. Please, there are only two races where engine swaps are not allowed (see OP) so don't be tempted to install them. The two BMW's are just more manageable and fun to drive without engine swaps.

The Speedhunters is on the backburner for now, but who knows we see how the series develop. They can always be used. Hope you guys like the change 👍

if u get a 1.43 of the veyron ( My Personal best ), and 1.47 of it, yeh...4 seconds is a lot...but show me other muscle that can go faster than this...it's good in it's class...

if you are trying to say that i'm lying about the times......to avoid wallrides suspect let's talk about road america, muscle champ. event 5?! Try to get nearly of my time (hondy, steve) and you will be clocking at least under 1.50, in at least 1 of the laps. 👍

I'm not so that good driver...,so to do my best times sometimes i spend more than 1 try....It doesn t came in a 3 lap race, driving other people car , that's what I meant b4 when I said You can't see this online...

there's no magic, that I can insure
Glitch tunes...Yes!!!

The Veyron is easy AWD, so was easy to find good tunes for it, and except stance 0,0, nothing more sounds strange for real life tunes.
After get bored of this game I fully worked all the cars and put them in the tuning track to make it faster than default settings...
Some RWD cars like muscles were just impossible, so I start to change everything including the control settings...and somehow I made it.

If i can give you a advice, always try things like tyres 50, 0, or stance 1, 0, gears 00000.
I am driving on Pad, hood cam. My problems were

understeer...light cars corner and brake better with very low stance, but react to quick, and I lose it, or over traction and I spin...
In cars like the Gumpert, Porche Gt and 918, F1 I use always 1 more in the front, like stance 0,1 on gumpert and 2,3 on the porsche, The F1 is to powerfull but the front feels is very light, so I use 0,2.

On muscle I got good results using stance 4 rear, the front 2 and 3.
Caster angle high like 25 is good for high speed tracks, it react much slower but you know how it's gonna behave...On tracks with more corners I use it in the middle, like 8 or 10

The steering lock never much more than the middle
Suspension, the bars middle like 6, 4, or 5,3, springs always 0,0, bumpers all 00...AWD cars work well with very hard suspension

Always keep default toe and camber
Brake Bal, I set 40, bcoz I use handbrakes, so it help...
Press, I use anti lock brakes On, so I use it very low, always under 10

Control settings 87% speed.
I tried from 50% to 100%, what I got is that, slower much more sensible, so I adjust for my drive
Sensibility around 50%, less sensibility make it react to quick and turn to much...
Dead Zones around 10, as more dead zone quick car react to corner, but u lose all sensibility...

After this tips I can tune any car of the game very quick making some adjusts...Hope it helps
