The biggest loss of life for the US in the Afganistan war and it seems that 22 of them were from SEAL Team 6. I have massive respect for these guys (and the SAS). A shame that they were killed like this, it seems a rocket propelled grenade fired by the Taliban brought them down.

*edit*
Would just like to point out that I have massive respect for all the men and women fighting overseas, but especially so for the special forces.

That is such a shame.. Those were some of the very best (not bashing on anyone else) of our Armed Forces. May they rest in peace.

Hate to be saying this, but since DEVGRU is involved... are we sure that this is really legit? I mean, are they just "dead." ?

^DEVGRU is the top tier unit of SEALs of which a lot of their activities are classified.

They operate in missions in which the US government cannot publicly be known to have supported and conducted.

Cream of the crop really.

And @Omnis.

Just because they are DEVGRU doesn't give them the ability to cheat death...Though popular opinion seems to think that.

May they rest in peace.

I think Omnis is implying that there was no actual accident and that this is a story sent out to officially list them as dead to free up their ability to move about behidn enemy lines or some such.

Omnis' idea sounds like something from the A-Team or Mission Impossible. You never know, the government does a lot of weird stuff, it could happen. But in any case, assuming that they really are dead, it's terribly sad.
