Marvel's Agent Carter is a TV series inspired by the Captain America movies. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films and other Marvel shows. The series features Peggy Carter, with Hayley Atwell reprising her role from the films, as she balances life in 1940's America as well as being a secret agent for the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR). ABC Studios bypassed a pilot, ordering the show straight to an 8 episode series. The series introduces the origins of several character storylines from MCU films.

Spoiler: Premise

Season 1 takes place in New York in 1946, with SSR Agent Peggy Carter balancing the routine office work she does for the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) while also secretly assisting Howard Stark (Tony Stark's father), who was framed for supplying deadly weapons to the highest bidder. Carter is assisted by Stark's butler, Edwin Jarvis, to find and dispose of Stark's weapons. In Season 2 Carter heads to Los Angeles to deal with threats of the new Atomic Age by mysterious individuals in the aftermath of World War II, gaining new friends, a new home and a potential love interest.

Just finished the first season and am loving this show. Does an amazing job of recreating 1940's New York, and Hayley Atwell is amazing as Peggy Carter, and I love how they managed to stretch 1 story across 8 episodes. Can't wait to start watching Season 2.
