Sad news. I remember having to watch my mum's TV shows way back in kindergarten (we did one day on, one day off, before all this half-day stuff started), and Mary Tyler Moore, both in her own show and Dick Van Dyke's, was easily my favourite part of the day. She left a huge mark on the world, on screen and off. :(

An excellent article, except for one unfortunate paragraph. It starts by saying she starred in two major sitcoms playing two different people, which is true enough. But it goes on to say:

Yes, and a thousand years from now, it'll still be unprecedented. I don't think the writer knows what the word "unprecedented" means.
