Above 1957 60 degree 3.5 litre V12 with six weber carbs producing 335bhp at 9,000rpm fitted to Maserati chassis number 3503. The dual ignition with 24 plugs and the between the camshafts inlet tracts will be of interest to engine buffs.

By 1956 the sweet handling 300S was beginning to get outgunned on the track so Maserati commenced work on the 450S, but before this was ready they produced a stop gap car, the 350S. The first two chassis used a 3.5 litre straight six, but they proved to be slower than the existing 300S. In the third chassis (3503) they fitted a 3.5 litre version of the V12 engine they had developed for the 250F T2 single seater. Sadly the car was not a racing success suffering a stone through the crankcase in the 1957 Mille Miglia and a piston failure just before the start of the Nurburgring 1000km. The car was not raced again and by Autumn 1957 was made obsolete by the 4.5 litre V8 450S.

This car is displayed in the Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari and was demonstrated at the Goodwood Revival in 2011. It wore the race number 533 when it competed in the 1957 Mille Miglia.

This car would be a good choice for the game if Polyphony Digital added a class of 1950's sports cars (which like the current 1960's cars, would be very popular) - faster than the 300S, but slower than the 450S it could be competitive in the game against the D Type Jaguar, Lancia D24, Ferrari 250's and Mercedes Benz 300 SLR.

Other great sports cars from the 1950's such as the Jaguar D Type have been suggested and are sadly and inexplicably missing from the game. This is one that I would love to drive - especially if PD can do a good job with the sound!
