Material for my rig/wheel stand?

Ok, first off, I don't have affordable access to carbon fiber.
Secondly, I'll be mounting the Logitech Driving Force GT onto this.

That being said, I want a good material that'd look professional. Although carbon fiber is ideal for this kind of rig, in my perspective, it's not feasible at this time. I was going to use diamond plate, but the force feed back would clank against the metal and make an atrocious sound.

Any other materials that are easily mountable to this? I already acquired permission from cwbetb to replicate his design, just to be safe.

Thanks,

You could just go to the lumber store and get some real nice and strong looking wood. You could cover the wood with varnish(I would do this for real good looking wood) or paint(I used black spray paint for my wheel stand which was made out of pine wood).

You also could make use of a plastic material but I have no idea on what to suggest.

I was leading more towards plastic, because I have some Plasti-Dip, which is black rubber coating that'll be going on the rig.

But wood might be my last resort.
And yes, I know what varnish is thanks to my grandpa. Half of the kids today don't know what it is today though.
