i wasn't sure where to put this but i reckon it would be seen by the most people in here. anyway there's a coupla 5 of my older GT vids on there. i'm adding some more as soon as i can get a damned GT disc to load:crazy:

again, sorry if this thread is in an unnacceptable spot, i'm just looking for some hits. hey, atleast i'm honest about it:tup:

GT3, isn't it? Here's your best bet. On the right hand side, look for Thread tools, and press Move Thread:

Change the destination forum to Gran Turismo 3 and click Move Thread 👍

Or just wait for a mod to do it for you.

Damn, I wish Rome was in GT4...

Please don't take this as me being a wanker but, i didn't really see any drifting. I accept all forms of critisism, thats what makes you better. Really what kills allot of it was the lines you were taking were more "grip" type racing lines. You can still drift with those lines but it won't look as nice. If you take a different line so you can feint into the drift then that adds allot too your overall video and look. If you look at other videos on the same track and then look at yours again you might see what im saying better. You would drift about an 1/8th of the turn into it and then would be taking the turn like a normal run. Need to initiate and keep the drift throught the turn as long as possible. If not, well its really just you getting a bit loose into the turns. Post the new video's when you get it up and running again:tup:

Yeah...it's not really drifting...it's more like a bunch of partial slides. Good stuff, but not full-opposite lock drifting. You might wanna try a slower car like a Trueno, I would imagine an RUF would be pretty tough to drift especially at a high-pace course like Midfield. 👍

Actually its one of the easier ones really. You don't even have to opposite lock the thing to keep the drift all the way through. Don't believe the fairy tale? Search for a video called counter steer zero. Can't remember who it was but it was some really good 🤬!

Oh I believe it if you say so. You are the man when it comes to some drifts. I wish I was as f:censored:ing good as you. But 🤬 I'm just okay at some 🤬 drifts!

Just apply yourself...lol. Im not that great, i just have fun doing it is all. I can't afford to buy an old RX-7 right now to restart in real life so i resort to the game. Wife is getting a job at the post office as a carrier so maybe within the next year i can post some real life drifting up. And yes the RX-7 will have a either a 302 or small block chevy dropped in :)

Closest I ever came to r/l drifting was a couple months ago I took my '88 Isuzu Trooper for a ride in the snow (gotta do it quick before the damn salt trucks ruin all the fun :irked:) anyways, I took a corner too fast and wound up in a partial drift worthy of video. Good thing there wasn't a car in that corner or I'd be making my insurance company some extra bank.

It may not be "drifting" per se, but that's a damn sweet lap. Besides it's not like it's posted under "drifting". It's the type of controlled drift you'd see from the likes of Walter Roehl or Keke Rossberg. Just enough drift to get it through the fast way.

I'm working TT#10 and would love to dial a little more understeer into it for the low speed corners.

I'm working with rallying a 240zg in GT4 and it's a prime example of zero counter steer in any of the fast turns. I was going through replays for photomode shots and was quite surprised how little countersteering I was doing.

I did some Ice Racing in a Datsun 510 many years ago. The fast way around the course usually involved a very controlled drift but if you held that drift too long you were just loosing speed. You wanted to be pointing the direction of the following straight by the apex of the turn and hold that attitude to the exit. Combination turns were some of my favorites, I remember one where I held the drift through the first turn, a left hander, took both hands off the wheel and let it spin the other way and it set me up perfectly for the right hander.

GT racing on the playstation is just a sad substitution (masturbation) for the real deal. Money thing here too.

I agree. I started racing dirt round track now ive moved up to 125cc shifter kart racing. At one time it was the cheapest form of racing, not so much now:yuck: Ive had numerous "muscle cars", nova's, chevelle, malibu but the only one i miss is the 79 malibu. Anyways, it is a good lap but it was revealed as drifting so thats why the comments. Not trying to down anyone in anyway, just trying to better everyone. Im no better than the first poster:sly:

My younger brother and his crazy mechanic friend put together a first generation RX7 with a Ford v6 in it and raced it in ice races for several seasons. By the time they retired it it had been rolled 3 or four times. there wasn't a straight panel on it and all the glass 'cept the windshield was tattered lexan.

Well we don't have really any ice here much, even in the winter but as far as the RX-7's go, lets just say that the rear ends take mucho grande abuse from experience. They are fun cars when V-8 is swapped in. My friend had a miata that i talked him into sticking a SBF 302 into. Fun car, but the extra weight in the front made it a real handle when WOT. Rear end would be back and forth untill you hit 4th gear. Stock 302 too also. Power to weight ratio of a rocket!

it's not a drift video. i don't make drift videos with 1099hp cars on supersofts. maybe you should think a little bit more about the context of the video next time. it wasn't a showoff session, it was the fastest time ever run on that track in a RR car for a long time. you can't pull much opposite lock going through a turn at 150 mph. if you're a wanker, it's because you think the term "drifting" is limited to burning up your tires and clutch driving around a bunch of cones trying to get some pussy. this video is a demonstration of high-speed drifting in a high powered car with the result being a faster lap time.

and why are you using the word "wanker" anyway? you're from alabama.

Why is everyone talking about drifting?.........Anyway, reliving some glory days Max?

My isp is super slow so I could only be bothered to check out rome :P Nice driving 👍

"It's not a drift video"....."the video is a demonstration of high-speed drfting". So is it not, or is it? Is it a high-speed drift video? If so, 👍.

Do i have to live in a certain state, or region to use a specific type of grammar?
And i know what the term "drifting" is. I have been racing for years, actually just got back from Barbers speedpark 2 weeks ago from a race. Even parnelli thought it was a drift video. I think the reason being is that people will post junk on here and they will think it is drifting or what have you and all they are doing is just cruising around the track breaking the rear end loose here and there and they think its just the best thing ever. So its hard to tell what videos are representing what sometimes. What i was saying about the racing lines makes since now, because you were taking racing lines on purpose for lap time. But usually instead of acting like a pissed off kid about a post, a simple " oh no man, its actually a _____ video". Oh my apologies, good job.

it's neither a drift video nor a high-speed drift video. it's a record lap video. there just so happens to be some high-speed drifting in it.

no, but it helps.

"But usually instead of acting like a pissed off kid about a post, a simple " oh no man, its actually a _____ video".
we're all different in the way we react to things. you're attitude in the beginning of your first post was cleary "that's not drifting, I KNOW what drifting is NYAH!" which deserves a brisk rebuttle in my book especially if it's not warranted because i do, infact, drift in the video, just not the way you appreciate.

Oh my apologies, good job.
thank you very much. i truly appreciate that.

Are all the cars you use hybrids? When i say hybrid i mean tampered with in any way. e.g. traction values etc. Most people think of engine swaps and other pieces like that as hybrids which yes they are but i consider any car a hybrid that has had any values tampered with. Thr RUF didn't seem to be, just wondering. Oh and, get er done (that alabama enuff:sly:)

no. i never used any hybrid parts or setting variations of any kind for real car laptime records. whenever i used hybrids it was to break hybrid records with 8-10 thousand horsepower cars. i pretty much just went for drivetrain records and on line racing podiums when i played gt3 and i played it so much i eventually reached those goals.

and yes, git er done is definitely a little better

I was wondering because i looked at the video of the beetle.

Cheers....oh sorry, catcha later bud.

i wasn't really thinking about it at the time but there isn't much drifting or powersliding in the midield video. there's more @ laguna seca. when i was referring to high speed drifting it was on the laguna video.

Too me there wasn't a whole lot, but there was some where needed. Like the last turn in deep forest can be taken really fast by speed drifting, much faster than grip. Also i wasn't thinking about this either, since i live in alabama should i forget about all the years i spent learning german? I mean i do live in alabama and i can't use words such as bollocks, wanker etc. So does another language count too? :)

i'm completely floored at the absolute honor of being nearly quasi-average in the eyes of your magnificent lordship.

as much as i cower at the mere thought of having to compare my puny skills to such an unbelievable god-like talent such as yourself, i'll pass on scrubbing tire all over the place when i can just blast through it full speed.

Also i wasn't thinking
surely you jest!

i couldn't think of anything to put here that wasn't really mean and i'm not that kind of guy so i'll just say "no" for both questions.

OK, boys, enough now. Max, since you're on your second life here, you should know better than to get uppity with people. Let your laps do the talking - your mouth/keyboard just gets you in trouble.
