Hello, I just installed MAYA 5 on my Win. 98 Computer and it gives me and error saying that the MAYARES.dll is currupted. I was wondering if anyone out there would be kind enough to send me a copy of their UN-corupted .dll file, thanks
!
Yep and all I found was other people with the same problem, that's how I found this site actually.Originally posted by xAkirax2004
Did you try looking in google?
The internet is full of those types of annoying .dll files.

You installed MAYA and it had a corrupt DLL? Why don't you try looking for it on that purchased CD you have. Or maybe call support and give them your valid license number.

You're 15 and you need MAYA to get a job? I don't believe you.

Because I might have gotten it by some other means.

Lying bastard.

If you got it by "other means" then you shouldn't even be asking about it then. The AUP strictly prohibits piracy. In fact, it is even mentioned in this thread.

Someone please close this thread.

What's wrong with you, lol? I said I might have done something not that I actually did it. You might think that I don't actually have a problem then since I bought the program, but what do I do if my 1 yr. old Chihuahua likes the taste of CD's for some reason and scratched the whole damn thing up?!?!?![]()

Maya won't run in Windows 98.
You might want to check out the System Requirments before you go off buying expensive programs like that.

If you really do have a legal copy, then you can call up their customer service, and they will send you a replacement disc.

Really? How do I do that? If I bought it cheap on E-Bay I don't think that they would send me a replacement disc. The person I bought it from didn't really give me much, just the disc in it's cardboard box. Not even a manuel (does it come with one?). I didn't think I would need the box so I threw it away. I've tried calling the company asking for a replecement but they can't do anything, I could just be someone that want's a free copy after all.

When you post saying that you "might have gotten it by other means" then you are practically incriminating yourself that you have stolen it. If you have actually purchased the program, then that's another story. I seriously doubt that a 15 year old can afford said piece of software because of the price tag. That's why I don't believe you.

Oh, c'mon Loud. If he was really serious in learning MAYA, he would have downloaded the Learning Edition, which is free of charge on their website.

Good catch ... hadn't thought of that.
Additionally, any computer still running Windows 98 wouldn't run Maya even if you upgraded to 2000 / XP. The computer we just bought at work is a dual 3.2GHz Xeon with 2GB memory. It's the best there is for an Intel workstation and it's "good enough" - said nothing of it being "bad ass".

Believe me, it'll run. I've made other programs run on my system that aren't suposed to work on it. Like Lightwave 8. Plus I have had some classes with 3D Design when I was in Highschool. 4 Full yrs.. Now my brother has been taking those very same classes for 3 yrs. in June. With more advanced software of course.
