The Mazda Prototype Lites is a spec racing series run by the IMSA featuring identical single seat prototype cars with Mazda I4 engines. The PL1 class features a 2.0 MZR Inline 4 while the PL2 class features a 2.3 MP2 Inline 4, while all cars feature identical 6-Speed transmissions and weigh 645KG.

The series has been running every year since 2006 and has featured some changes, such as the PL2 class originally using a 1.0 Suzuki engine. The series runs 14 races each year, most of which are supports for the United Sportscar Chamionship.
