Anyone got some setup ideas for this new event (Cape Ring inside, 197BHP, 800kg). The KUSABI Concept '03 seems to be the one to go for.

I'll work on that tomorrow :)

But to be honest I wouldn't share it with you because if I do where is the competition? ;)

Not that I don't like you, hope you know what I mean :)

When you mod the engine only stage 1 tune it, then use a combination of parts to hit 197bhp and the best torque figure you can get. I used a supercharger at first and did a 57.015, 9th at the time. Then I tried to switch it up and stage 2 tuned the engine and dropped the charger. Now I cant get as much torque unless I run it at 196bhp and its not worth it.

As for a tune I just decked it, set rear toe to -.05 and brake bias to 4/9. Could be tweaked to go faster but now I dont think I will as I can't undo the engine tuning.

Should have noted the figures before I fitted parts.

What torque figures are you guys getting at 197bhp and with what parts?

I was running 1:00 with the Gathers civic, went to check and every one of the top runners were using the Kusabi, so i purchased all of the available upgrades apart from power (weight takes you to 800kg), i bought the supercharger and one of the cheap parts to bring me to 196bhp.

The car is clearly the best choice (that i have tried) and i was running late 57s to low 58s, the top runner was running a 56.7, theres no way the car can do that with stock settings, it understeers too much and loses speed in certain places as a result, mainly the chicane and the following final corner.

Most of the speed on that track is likely found in the final sector.

going without supercharger puts me at a rpm limit of 7600, it seems this is the way the top replays are doing, and it'll put you at 205km/h+ at the end of the uphill just before hitting rev limiter (transmission set to 220 i believe).

i did put the engine tune stage 1, but i'm not sure that was the proper way to go... - guess i'll have to scourge the used dealer for another one to try without the engine tune.

i'm having a hard time figuring out suspension settings that allows decent (more than i have) grip at 181+ in the uphill towards the end. any tips on suspension settings to allow more stable high speed cornering would be appreciated.

I can't for the life of me to do a lap faster than 0'58.010

Doesn't matter the way I try to tune the car: soft, stiff, lots of roll, almost no roll, toe-in, toe-out, camber, heigth... it always understeers after initial cornering.

And I simply can't accelerate out of the first corner fast enough, I lose something like .2 there, compared to the top guys.

197HP

Im currently within 1 second of the top time, ive been changing one thing and doing laps, then repeating. I currently havent adjusted the LSD, dampers, anti-roll bars and only fiddled with the camber and toe to give me a starting point.

Currently i have it set up as:

Transmission: 143

Ride height: -15/-15
Spring rates: 6.2/5.0
Dampers (extension): 4/4
Dampers (compression): 4/4
Anti-roll bars: 3/3

Camber: 1.0/0.0
Toe Angle: -0.30/0.20

Brake Balacen Controller: 5/6

Like i said, no LSD changes as yet, ill update when i have something im happy with.

The way i experimented on it was, turn on the driving line for this til you get the hang of it. Come in wider than the line, brake slightly (very slightly) after where it indicates you should, then begin your dive for the corner and then begin acceleration while turning.

After a few goes i was able to find a point where hard braking/steering to the apex would deliver me at the apex upon releasing the brake and i could begin to accelerate straight away. After a while you should have it down so that there is no "dead time" between braking and accelerating.

A 5/6 brake balance (or similar) works well for me here as it lets the front end get tight and the back end runs wide almost imperceptably but made getting this corner right much easier.

Hopefully that was understandable, if not give me a shout and ill try and word it better.

EDIT: I also switched to automatic for "learning" as i find although im slower, im more consistent on corners/entire laps with it, even though my best automatic time is slower than my worst manual. That might work for you, it just seems like my gear changes mess with me a bit when im learning a track or corner.

Double post, apologies.

EDIT: Well triple post now i suppose. But the first two were intentional.
EDIT2: Although upon further consideration I should have just made one huge post.

Thanks for the setup and for the tips, don't worry, I understood perfectly what you mean.

I'll try again, see if I improve my time or something and post here again. I'd be happy if I made it to the top 500!

So... yeah, I tried your setup, and changed it a thousand times until I completely lost my head.

My best time was 0'58 as I already said, but I couldn't do better than 1'01!! No matter how hard I tried or the setting I used. I was so sick of the Kusabi.

Today I bought the Spoon CRZ because I love the interior and took it to this event. It drove SOOO good, even if it lacked a little power compared to the Kusabi. I did 1'00 after two laps without even looking at the setting and with the default gearbox. Didn't pay much attention to it. I went into the replay to take some cool pictures of my new ride and THERE I SAW IT. SPORTS MEDIUM!!!! I had been racing with COMFORT SOFT all day long with the Kusabi... sigh!!

So now I'll try your setup again :) I'm sooooo stupid, how could I not notice!!

Yeah, 10 laps later I'm rank 227... Phew, I was starting to think I was really THAT bad. I'll get to 0'56 with this setup, I think.

47th now, after a little tweaking of the LSD and softening the suspension a little. :) I'll give it another go tomorrow, see if I can get into the top 25.

Anyone got any new set-ups. Im getting constant (4-5 laps within .2sec) low 57s now, and im just watching the leaders ghost pull away from me out of corners.

Looking at his data analysis, he can plant in round the second and third corner which i cant do and he can do the same again on the last corner which again i cant.

First checkpoint im about .39 behing and by the last check point (before the pits) im .9 behind even though between those two check points my foots all the way down the whole time

Well I tried this challenge but I'm not a good driver and was in the 59's. You could try my setup to check if it's ok, I'm very curious to see if it works or not. Wait 10 minute, I'm onlining the console.

-edit- I don't remember if I made an oil change or not... Engine is stage 1 NOT stage 2. All other modifications are buyed. I use a french version of the game so I'm not sure the terms I use are correct.

Standard CPU / Engine stage 1
Sport admission collector / Sport air filter
Sport muffler collector / Standard catalityc / standard muffler
Compressor

All other part buyed and installed, oil change is ? (please tell us)

800kg/200hp/270Nm (270Nm is the best I could find with 200bph/engine stage 1 but maybe I'm wrong).

Top speed : 210 km/h (was still experiencing with this).

LSD 60/60/5
Ride heigth : -15/-15
Spring rate : 4.8/3.8
Dampers (extension) : 3/3
Dampers (compression) : 4/4
Anti-roll bars : 4/4

Camber : -3.2/-3.0
Toe Angle : +0.0/+0.0

Brakes : 4/3

All driving helps off but ABS 1.

-edit- ok there's a lot of things wrong in this setup, I'm correcting it.

Same here, I think I got the same time with the gathers civic too. When I switched over to the Kusabi my best lap after tweaks was 58.1
