The Mazda RX-8 MAZDASPEED is a tuned version of the Mazda RX-8 by MAZDASPEED, Mazda's in house tuning company. The MAZDASPEED RX-8 was first introduced in 2005 for the first generation RX-8 but got an upgrade in 2010 to fit the second generation RX-8.

Well, it's hard to find info on this car because you buy the parts from Mazda and install them yourself so performance and price vary. All I have found out so far is that the total cost is $40,000.

Well there isn't much on the Mazdaspeed RX-8 at all when it comes to specs so that may be for the '05. It was 26k in 2005 so add 6k to that and it's going to be totalling 46k for the 2012 Mazdaspeed.

$14k worth of kit sounds about right. A good brakes alone would put a sizable hole in your wallet, last time I checked.

If I was an owner of a RX8 though, I wouldn't really sink that much in it, actually.... maybe save some for the oil changes and fuel bills..

I know, that's why I put (estimated) at them. I don't know a thing about this kinda stuff either so if someone knows what it actually has I'll correct it. Plus I think I remember a Mazdaspeed RX-8 in Forza (2?) having around 276HP. Will have to check that.

I owned a gen 1 RX-8. I absolutely LOVED that car. Gas mileage sucked but maintenance was actually pretty simple. Oil change every 3K with some BG MOA, BG 44K in the gas tank every 10-15K, and a good full throttle red lining every couple of days to blow out the carbon. Not a fast car per se (not much torque at all), but quick enough. We need not talk about the handling. There is NOTHING this side of a Porsche for drivers feel of this car. NOTHING.
