The new 570S GT4 is unveiled as it enters its final development phase. That means – like the McLaren 650S GT3 before it – the 570S GT4 will be fine-tuned in the heat of real competition, before deliveries to customers commence in 2017. The register of interest is now open with the car priced from £159,900. McLaren’s racing arm, McLaren GT, will enter the car in this year’s British GT Championship. The team will contest the full nine-round calendar which includes the famous Spa circuit in Belgium. Driver details will follow.
Based around the carbon fibre Monocell II chassis that lies at the heart of all Sports Series models, the GT4 features a new wide body stretched over magnesium alloy wheels and Pirelli slick tyres, with a GT4-spec aero package including a high-level rear wing. Powered by the Sports Series’ twin-turbo V8, the new car will make its competitive debut at Brands Hatch over the weekend of 16-17 April.
Joining the 570S GT4 is the new Sprint version of the Sports Series. Like previous McLaren models to wear the Sprint badge, this 570S is a dedicated track day car, unrestricted by any racing regulations. The 570S Sprint will be revealed in the coming weeks with further details.
