Mclaren f1 help

Hello everyone, o have been tuning my mclaren f1 for an upcoming competition but i feel i have hit a snag. As of now the best time i can get is 9.49-. I am severly confused by this car due to its incredible light weight and very high horse power, and im honestly not even really sure how to launch it. I have been quick shifting third to fourth but im not very sure thats the best option and weight helps but kills the car in top end. I have put a wing on it so far and maxxed out the down force, and it helped but im not sure of my problem. I feel like i have a fair suspension but im not sure how to go about the transmission. If there is anyone who can give me a few pointers it would be much appreciated.

Rear ballast, short-shift from 2nd into 3rd off launch. You can get high 9.3s with it if tuned right.

Edit: Set top speed of the tranny so you are hitting peak horsepower in 6th. It's a 6spd, not a 7, right?

Thanks shake, ill test it out, also i have 218 miles and have 875 hp but i was told it goes higher, this true?

And still no luck, im stuck at 8.5, ive tried extreme weight and nearly none, and inbetween, andim crossing the line in the power band. Im getting very frustraited with this thing, its as though it dosent want to be tuned.

Yeah I'm getting low 9.4s. This car is pretty tricky.

Try 30kg on the rear ballast, softest springs on rear

Try a suspension like this

Flip it with the following
Max in corner reading about 220
6 fully right
1 leave, 2 fully left, 3 40-50% 4 80-95%, 5 right

Full aero

I just made this up on the spot without actually looking at the settings so I hope this is helpful

I left the F1 at 9.4s cause that'll beat most people. When it gets beat I'll tune it again. Car was a bitch.

Maybe if i try to fine tune it, im at exactly 9.5

Edit: woah, just got a 9.474, holy crap!

Edit again: down to 9.463, lets try for more!

Finally down to 9.450, wow! Thats incredible, thanks for the help viper, really helped me out here.

I like base tunes with a few kinks in them though, always fun trying to debunk it and get it running, and sort of a challenge

Oh god, i will a bit later, bout to try and run down some noob gtr 09s with my MCF1, and if that fails ill grab my zr1

Why is there not a thread for this yet? What noob in a fastee car you beat with a much slower one? I would love to see those.

Don't worry they aren't too bad, in general but a few of them will throw you for a loop
