I'm not sure how many people here were into the MW games, I always thought they were fun back in the day. Someone is developing a MOD for Crysis based on MW, the name is in the title. Furthermore the development of the game will be supported by Crytek which is a +.

MechWarrior: Living Legends. Will you be a living legend or a forgotten casualty?

By the 31st century, humanity has spread to thousands of worlds, while a handful of powerful empires wage continual war for the right to rule the stars. Foremost among the weapons used in that struggle are BattleMechs. Loaded with auto cannons, missile launchers, lasers, and charged-particle beam weapons, these fusion-powered war machines of articulated armor stand upward of fourteen meters tall. Piloting them are MechWarriorÂ’s, the best, most intensively trained men and women available. Like the armored knights of an earlier age, MechWarriorÂ’s are popular heroes, and their exploits are the stuff of legends.

MechWarrior: Living Legends (MWLL) is a total conversion modification for Crysis. MWLL is at its very core a mix between a First Person Shooter (FPS) and a Simulation (SIM). This will be achieved through the use of a, mixed arms massively multiplayer, gaming experience where the player takes part in a battle using a variety of vehicles and weapons. MWLL is following the concept set forth by Crysis of a sandbox feel where you get to play what you want and how you want it.

MWLL depicts the epic struggles between the two umbrella factions of Battletech, “The Clans” and “The Inner Sphere”. Maps typically have a mix of vehicles and infantry combat, using both of these to complete objectives as a team will be essential to winning rounds or campaigns in MWLL. In the project we will be bringing some of the legends of “MechWarrior” franchise back to life with new art and animations that do justice to these huge weapons of war and also do something that’s never been done before using the deep universe of Battletech. There are so many facets to Battletech and finally comes a title that is willing to explore them.

Think I would rather have a brand new standalone MechWarrior by the original makers.

yeah same here. just give me a revamped mechwarrior 4 with updated graphics and maybe a few new features + more details.

Holy...

I heartily disagree with you two. Mod teams aren't restricted by budgets or publisher demands, and they tend to put more passion into their work than any "real" developer. If the technical side of this game ends up as polished as any mainstream release (with Crytek support that's a strong possibility), it could be the best and most accurate Battletech game yet.

Too bad my PC meets the absolute bare minimum requirements for Crysis and the game will probably run like poo until I upgrade.

Especially because Microsoft completely dumped support for the game a year after it came out in favor of the comparably craptastic MechAssault series.

Just a few screenshots from the website.

Looks like a beta will be released on the 26th! People from the official development team actually helped with the development of this mod. :)

Its a bit buggy. i've reinstalled crysis 6 times trying to get it to work. It works fine then stops working. hopefully its okay now -_-
