As Samberto showed us his lovely Honda Firestorm in This Thread I'd like to see what bikes other members own. If you've got a bike (no matter how big or small ) post a pic/vid and what it is. If you think it should be included in TT then please say why. I'll get the ball rolling:
Triumph Daytona 955i '99
Just outside the showroom
Triumph 955i On-Board
this is a vid I, er, found of a 955i at the Isle Of Man.
I've had the 995i for over a year now, it being the 5th bike I've had. Riding the bike is definately an emotional experience - the noise it makes when you wind it up, the way the single-sided swingarm looks, everything about it oozes character. It's not as powerful as a GSX-R 1000 or R1 (I've ridden quite a few), and it doesn't have the same razor-sharp handling, but it does communicate with the rider well and the noise to me is like nothing else. Makes me smile every time I take it out.
Took it to the IOM TT races earlier this year. I think the suspension is a little too stiff for road riding, so it didn't handle the bumpy sections as well as I would've liked, but it still wasn't too shabby and allowed a few slider/road contacts 👍 .
I haven't modified it, apart from the Triumph high level exhaust - to get that lovely triple burble and to show off the back wheel.
Should it be in TT?
Heart says yes, head isn't sure. With the Speed Triple and the Sprint ST both being in there it's hard to say. The Daytona is the sportsbike version, the Sprint ST is the tourer bike and the Speed Triple is basically a naked version of the Daytona. In the game the Speed Triple and Daytona would be very similar - there are differences, but no radical differences. The slot might be better used by another bike from a different manufacturer.
Edit: Pic and vid link added.
