Yes, another Elstro-car=praising thread.....

Am i the only one to have discovered the hidden joys of the Mercedes CLK?

I had lots of cash knockign around and was looking for something different, and tried out the CLk, having raced it in Arcade. This car is as good as any turbo-nutter Skyline/rex and is one of the best FRs in the game.

I run a 355 bhp 2ltr turbo CLK200 in dark blue with BBS rims, and this eats the GTC MidField race for breakfats with the right tuning. The 320 gets more power but is heavier and is harder to tune.

Has anyone else tried these?

I'd never tried either of the CLK's until two weeks ago, so I recently tried the stock CLK 200 (about 140hp, tugging 3050 lbs). I was surprised how well it fared in completely stock form against the faster AI cars, beating everything it could in the up to 345hp races. It's a little overpriced, so I never gave it much of a look until recently.

Which proves yet again, there's always something to be found in the massive fleet of cars GT2 has to offer.

What a coincidence, I recently got a CLK 200 Sport, too. I agree that it's a total sleeper. The 4 cylinder engine threw me off, I expected it to be a sloth..and it was at first. 0 to 60 mph in 9.1 seconds...0 to 100 in 26.9! Blea!!! Top speed of only 139.97 mph around the test track. But with upgrades, the CLk kicks ass and it's fun watching a car usually reserved for suburbanites drift amongst the AI. Pupik is right, there's always something new in this game. I expect to be going gray before I get done with GT2 and move on to GT3.

I've always tried the 320, but never the 200. I guess I'll tune one up tonight and see how much fun it is.

IMHO, the SLK has all the power you could possible fit under that tiny hood. It had it over the CLK because of the racing mod, though. I'm not partial to the CLK (or E-class) styling; it looks like turd to me. =). The AMG C is a very nice car, however, and perhaps the best Mersedes. That or Sport, Leight, und Kompact.

Of course, I've been driving it for over 5 years and I got it totally Tweaked out with a 7Speed tranny also!!!
