Does anyone have a good tune for the Evo II 2.5-16? Not the touring car version (I'm still trying to find one...), but the regular road going one. I'm having trouble perfecting the good ol' DTM car.

I've been hard at work on this, but seriously, without aero, the ass end just keeps coming out unless you're running it at stock with 230~hp.

You could try raising the backend a smidge... This will make more angle of attack on the spoiler causing more downforce... I've done this on a fully tuned F40 and it does wonders to keep the back end in check.

I will put my tune up when i find the time. Likely on Wednesday.

I don't know what the above poster is talking about... i find the car extremely drivable.
i've tuned the 190E to turn 7:19 second laps on the Nurb Nord with only 387hp. (all aids off aside from ABS set to 1)

Until i post my exact tune i suggest increasing camber & toe slightly to counteract the rear end coming out. Take the suspension down -18 front and -14 rear and increase spring rate by +5 front and rear. Increase the LSD initial torque by 3. Purchase racing soft tires. (I've performed all weight reduction and engine tuning on the vehicle.)

It is my favorite vehicle at the moment...

Still patiently waiting for the Merc 190E DTM Touring car to show up in the used car dealership.

Looking forward to your tune. I thought the recent update awarded the DTM version, but it's just the road car, so now I have 2 and really want to tune one up.

The CLK GTR you win for Golding all Intermediate AMG challenges... is a BEAST! too bad the texture quality on this car is sub-par.
Anyway, will post my tune for the 190E Wednesday evening EST. Would really enjoy some online 190E races at the Nurb Nord.

I meant the 190E you get for silvering the AMG event. I misread and assumed/hoped it was the race edition.
But as I said, now I have one to keep stock and one to turn into a track monster. :sly:

Wait, you get a 190E for silvering in the AMG event? Which one? Advanced or Expert? Because in Easy/ Intermediate, you don't get any cars...just photo ops and the ring.

I know that the real Evo II's have fairly high camber angles on them tires.

For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gw-AxiVqihM

but for all i know, the high camber angles might not translate into the game as well. it isss a game afterall. Still i'm determined to make this car a driving beast.

On a related note, why the heck didn't GT5 include an E30 M3 to pit against the Evo II!??!?!?!?!

The patch made it so the intermediate AMG event gives you the tracks at bronze, the 190E for silver, and the CLK-GTR for gold.

As mentioned previously, my tune for the Mercedes Benz 190E Evo II is as follows.

All performance modifications are installed… this includes weight reduction, engine, suspension, drivetrain, transmission, EVERYTHING. The car makes 379hp and 266 ft-lbs.

SUSPENSION
Ride Height: -28, -28
Spring Rate: 10.3, 9.8
Dampers (extension): 5, 5
Dampers (compression) 5, 5
Anti-Roll Bars: 3, 3
Camber Angle: 0.6, 0.0
Toe Angle: 0.03, 0.18

LSD
Initial Torque: 28
Acceleration Sensitivity: 40
Braking Sensitivity: 20

TRANSMISSION

Top Speed: 193mph.

The transmission is set to maximize gearing on the Nurburgring Nordschleife. I am not a “tuner” this is simply my own setup for a vehicle which i have found to be particularly affective and enjoyable. The car is light and really likes to slide around high-speed corners, which makes for fun driving. I’ve put down a 7:17 lap at the Nordschleife with this tune (All AIDS turned off except ABS set to 1. I drive with a G27 wheel) As far as the Ride Height… raising the car will help with bottoming out, but the car just looks too damn good slammed.

It would be great to hear other peoples setups. Perhaps this thread can become the official 190E Tuning spot.

Enjoy

Also, I agree very much with the comment above… where is the E30 M3 which this was matched against??? Hopefully PD adds the E30 and E36 in DLC.

Thanks man 👍 I'm just in the process of trying this tune...I love this car, infact I love it so much I bought two...one I'll keep stock the other gets the works.

Only trouble I have now is I'm not a big fan of the Nurb...well what I mean is I've never really driven it much in any racing games so I suck on it big time...maybe nows the time to start practising it :)

Thanks! I'll give it a try and i'll let u know how it goes.

Sometimes I'll never understand what cars they decide to put into the game. Take the Honda Odyssey. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind taking a minivan and maxing it out and see how it does on the ring (I drive a minivan in real life :) ) , but why a minivan instead of, say, for example, an E30 M3 !?!??!?

If you're having tons of trouble with the ring, try the AMG special Event. It's a pretty good insight into the ring.

agreed.

the AMG special Events are perfect for learning the Ring.
You owe it to youself to memorize every turn. This is the most challenging and rewarding track in the game. It provides a solid an visceral experience. Everyone, keep me posted on your thoughts of the tune... lets combine our efforts and really turn this vehicle into a Ring machine. I am going to put in a bit of time with GT5 tonight, but i will be away on vacation for Christmas until the new year. I will post any alterations i've made once i'm back.

Cheers

OK so I had a blast round the ring and one word....WOW great job on the tune thus far 👍 I chose to run a one lap race in A-spec because I prefer to always try and earn some credits when driving....so I was held up a few times trying to get past the other cars but my time was not good....8.00 mins.

Anyways I'll go check out the tips above and get right on with those AMG special events...I'm no expert about setting up cars and tuning so can't thankyou enough for making the effort to tune the Merc 👍

Me too.
Under the Extreme section, the Schwarzwald League B - 1 lap race around the Nordschleife is my favorite race. It rewards a good amount of credits and XP. The great thing about the Ring is that it is so varied that it never gets old. I will spend an entire night just replaying this one race over and over.

Also, the AMG special events (particularly intermediate and extreme) pay very well. Golding all expert races is worth more than a million credits.

Thought i could post my setup on the Evo also, i tried your's but the car understeer a bit to much so i adjusted a bit :P But because of the camber angle i set the top speed i reduced. So much fun to drive on the ring, just love this car!

Dampers (extension): 5, 5
Dampers (compression) 4, 6

SUB PAR when the Falken GTR Skyline shows up in the UCD take a look at it. I bought just for nostalgia I used to kill it with that car in GT3. It looks like my two year old drew it the exhaust looks like a solid steel bar sticking out the bumper. I understand that the premiums took 6 months a car but damn least let the big boys animate it, not your daughter on take your kid to work day.
